SaintRobbie Posted 31 December, 2008 Share Posted 31 December, 2008 Would prefer him to JP but to be honest Davies prefers robust bigbloke-CCC bully style experienced players. Unless you were to buy him a whole team to replace all our kids, Kelvin Davies, Svensson - in fact just about everyone less Perry - I cant see that Davies would have had much impact here. Forest have far more potential bully boys. He'll keep them up.

Lunatic Fridge Posted 31 December, 2008 Share Posted 31 December, 2008 That's Forrest out of the relegation equation then. Makes our predicament even worse - Div 3 here we come. Unless of course we are rid of the current disease that is Lowe and Wilde and his failing Dutch experiment.

Andy_Porter Posted 31 December, 2008 Share Posted 31 December, 2008 Billy Davies is the sort of manager who will get the best out of the players he has. A motivator and an organiser, it doesn't matter if it's a team full of kids of a bunch of 6ft monsters he will get them playing to there strengths. A shame he's going to Forest, can't see them being relegated now. We need to hope Lowe has a decent loan or two ready for January.

VectisSaint Posted 31 December, 2008 Share Posted 31 December, 2008 Doesn't seem like the appointment has actually been made. While I'm not upset that he is not joining us (never thought he would anyway), the really bad news is that he is joing one of our rivals for relegation. I would suggest Forest will not be relegated under Davies, and that they will now finish the season mid-table. With Donny also improving, as expected, and with Charlton having the benefit of parachute payments, I guess that makes us clear favourites for the drop, unless Lowe acts NOW and replaces JP. The chances of that look slimmer and slimmer.

St Paul Posted 31 December, 2008 Share Posted 31 December, 2008 Cant believe Forest have gone down the English route. There are plenty of Dutch second division Managers who'd do the job on the cheap. gaz Posted 31 December, 2008 Share Posted 31 December, 2008 A lot of my Forest supporting mates aren't happy with him (cos of the Derby connection), but think he's the best man for the job, and a better candidate that Clough Jr. I would have welcomed him here. He might be a long-ball manager, but I wouldn't care as long as it turned the club around.
ahill Posted 31 December, 2008 Share Posted 31 December, 2008 There is no issue here - Forest were staying up anyway. We need a couple of other teams above us to free fall a little - mind you if we don't improve our home form then what other teams do is largely irrelevant. Not only is a manager that could have done the business for us when Lowe finally realises JP isnt up to it no longer available, he's gone to one of our relegation rivals.... This with the news about Pearce means 2009 has already started as it intends to go on............shiite. SaintRobbie Posted 1 January, 2009 Share Posted 1 January, 2009 Ironic isnt it that alot of Forest fans are already saying they dont rate him and dont want him... largely as he's ex-Derby I suspect...but even I (and I've never rated him above a coordinator of big blokes) would die for him to come to Saints above JP. Oh dear. Shows really how badly things are going.

Dalek2003 Posted 3 January, 2009 Share Posted 3 January, 2009 Seems like a vocal minority of Nottingham fans dislike the appoijntment of BD, but the board are sticking by his appointment for the good of the club. Watch the opposition melt away as Forest climb the league. Wish our chairman and board had the guts to do what was right for the club in 2004 and appoint Hoddle instead of being swayed by the mouthy few.
