Cork leaves Saints for Watford

You heard it here first! Will be announced officially very shortly.

Absolutely gutted about this. It's a massive blow to lose Cork but with Brendan Rogers' Chelsea connections it's hardly a surprise.

this is why I think we will struggle even more this 2nd half of the season. Results dont lie and we are in the ****e. Getting rid of "decent" players that have sort of gelled will be the down fall. Yes I know we have signed the lad from everton put as it looks like Rudi might be going as well as others, we will have yet another new team full of inexperienced players who havent played with each other and will struggle. I dont predict the remaining season to be good :(

Not sure what to make of today's rumours (its watford; no, its charlton; no, it is watford after all...). Was hoping though that we would have had some news today (if not before, that the loan had been extended).

If he does move on, and all it is is a loan then I don't really see what it serves.

If there is a deal to sign for x amount at the end of the loan in the summer then that could have taken the matter out of both the player and the club's (saints) hands.

I do know, that having spoken with Jan, that he wants/wanted jack to stay and is a big admirer.

One thing though.... these rumours are not mentioned anywhere on Watford or Charlton forums

How do you come to that conclusion?

Because he is an important part of our team and whilst a loan to a premiership team would be understandable, loaning him to Watford would (if it is true) indicate to me that something is lacking in the contacts between the upper levels of management at Southampton and Chelsea. A little bit of sweet-talking and some diplomatic discussions should help to ensure that we don't get presented with nasty surprises such as this - and Pearce too, whilst we're on the subject.

The whole thing is rotten and falling apart........I can't see anyone wothwhile wanting to join Saints.....with all the angst going on off the field........... poisoned chalice I would say.......... will struggle to bring anyone in of decent level of play

Our already fragile defence is slowly being picked off. At least we can be sure of relegation rather than spent till May hoping we might stay up.

Yep it`s going to be great..no defence left and no one to score goals.:(

Total football.....total relegation...total disaster.....

Well done Michael and Rupert....brilliant:smt038

It will be a loss though I can't see how anyone at SFC is at fault. Chelsea's choice.

Puts an extra onus on getting Scheiderlin properly fit though.

Can Scheiderlin play right back, Centre half then?

We are left with Perry and Lancashire as centre halves which is not good as perry can't play every game and Lancashire is not ready yet.

Lowe is the worst disaster to befall this town since the Titanic.

He can to be fair. Remember him playing there in friendlies so if worse comes to worse. That said I'm pretty sure by the time we play in the championship next we will have a centre back on loan.
