Presumably plain text only soon as not buying any additional storage the tight bastards I tip SWF admin based on a percentage of my daily post quantity.

I have no problem tipping waiting staff, usually around 10% for me. I’m just wondering why tipping culture means that waiting staff should be tipped, but not bar staff, for doing a very similar job in the same establishment. An example. I’m in Spain at the moment and played golf yesterday, afterwards we had a pint in the sun outside the clubhouse. I ordered at the bar and the chap said ‘go and sit down, I’ll bring them over’. He came over with the drinks and a card machine, it was 17 euros (bargain for 4 drinks btw) and I paid and told him to make it twenty. Obviously no problem with doing that. Yet if I had paid at the bar, I reckon I may not have tipped. But, really, I should do if I want to be consistent. It doesn’t make much sense really. We tip because culture tells us we should, and not because logic dictates it. The walk over to deliver the beers was worth the tip
whelk Posted 5 hours ago Author Posted 5 hours ago I’ve done a few walking tours where any payment is discretionary. I wouldn’t be able to sleep at night if didnt remunerate appropriately. Respect for the psychology though as only a total bastard wouldn’t think well I enjoyed that and no way they shoudl do it for nothing. Reckon they make more that way than saying €20 per person. 2

Waiters usually get the better end of the deal, and the better the establishment, the bigger the tips.

I’d wish I could tip Wembley for £2.50 admin charge for City game - would happily give them additional tenner for all that considerable digital effort 2

We did one in Krakow a while back. Brilliant, but a few people just said thanks and walked off without handing over any cash. Not right, and a mentality I don't understand.

We’ve probably been brought up properly though.
trousers Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago (edited) You've convinced me... Bring back capital punishment for those numbskulls that don't agree with tipping in exactly the same way that others do. Don't they know there's only one "right" way FSS! Edited 4 hours ago by trousers

badgerx16 Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago A light bulb that has been in the cupboard under the stairs since we moved in in 1985 has just blown after more than 40 years of service. It's like the death of an old family friend.
