SNSUN Posted July 27 Posted July 27 Another half an hour of this and England players will be shagged out. They're already knackered. Spain look like they have an extra gear.

benjii Posted July 27 Posted July 27 We just need a bit more composure when we gain possession to get into the final third. When we do, we look capable of scoring. Not sure if we've got anyone left on the bench who can make an impact?

Not sure if we've got anyone left on the bench who can make an impact? Depends what you mean by impact. With Mead, Agyemang and Kelly on we have our three biggest goal threats on the pitch already. Grace Clinton would give us fresh legs and composed passing in midfield. Beever-Jones would give us an extra aerial threat up front, she is a decent goalscorer but kind of doubles up in terms of role with Agyemang.

Holmes_and_Watson Posted July 27 Posted July 27 A little surprised Russo went off so early. Agyemang goes near post a lot, while Russo was offering a central target. Not to mention her single woman press, that brought the others up, and changed the game. England showed they could win this, despite Spain's possession and passing. When England had the space after they'd pushed Spain back, they put together some good moves of their own. 1

SWLondon Saint Posted July 27 Posted July 27 Players look out on their feet while Spain brought on 2 quick and fresh forwards. Need changes or we'll lose this in ET.

Should have given them both a go together for ten mins.
benjii Posted July 27 Posted July 27 If we can survive to half time the gaffer needs to tell them to calm down when we get the ball.
Saint_clark Posted July 27 Posted July 27 Standard of officiating is utterly abysmal in the women's game. Holding it back for sure.

I think she's been fine. Hasn't got any big decisions wrong and plenty of male refs give soft free kicks for that sort of thing.

It's been worse than this all tournament. This one's actually done quite well by comparison.

SNSUN Posted July 27 Posted July 27 I'd take pens but this England team does like to leave it late...
benjii Posted July 27 Posted July 27 Kelly needs to do better when she's defending. Keeps getting mixed up with the left back.

SWLondon Saint Posted July 27 Posted July 27 Definitely should have left Russo on, but also the midfield is knackered and can't seem to get up the pitch at all.

Sheaf Saint Posted July 27 Posted July 27 No idea why the ref gave that. If anything it was a foul on Charles.

Case and point, gives a foul there by Charles when she was being dragged to the floor and it should have been a penalty.
