I, for one, thought he looked like he had quality, good ball controL and looking to play forward when possible. I expect him to be reintegrated through pre-season and wouldn’t be surprised if he is challenging for a starting spot during the coming season. Some forum members seem to write off players after 5 minutes. Injuries do not always mean the player is a shadow of their pre-injury self. Kevin De Byrne had a reasonable spell out injured when he was in his late teens, what happened to him?!?!? When you say “a number of times” he played 5 times and didn’t feature again. Mainly because he looked like a kid who had been called up from the U14s to play for his dad’s team because they were a man down. He looked okay on the ball but as I say looked like a kid playing man’s football. I certainly didn’t see anything in him to comprehend why we’d paid £6m for him when we already had a few players in his position and I still don’t understand why we signed him. He might be the new Alphonso Davies, I hope he is, but at the moment struggling to make sense of why we signed him Edited 21 July, 2024 by Turkish 3

If not, why not? - is it the same injury that keeps recurring and/or never heals, or is it a catalogue of back to back different injuries? - has the doctor who carried out his medical been struck off yet? So, in summary, no-one's got a Scooby what type of injury(s) he's had over the last 2 years?!
SambaMaverick Posted 21 July, 2024 Posted 21 July, 2024 Seriously dodgy deal, one in a series with Man City including Charles, possibly Edozie and less so Bazunu. Thank fuck we managed to get Lavia. 1

SaintNewForest Posted 28 November, 2024 Posted 28 November, 2024 Anyone remember this guy? Last played for us over 2 years ago. Picked up another injury and won't be back till sometime next year.

Have we ever been told what the nature of his injury(s) are...?
Gloucester Saint Posted 29 November, 2024 Posted 29 November, 2024 Another hopeless signing. If SR can’t do transfers whatsoever, because they can’t operationally run football clubs for shit, what are they actually good at? Or even just not an absolute disaster at?

Gloucester Saint Posted 29 November, 2024 Posted 29 November, 2024 If he ever appears again and came on a sub next season in the Champ, the home and away fans will be chanting ‘who are yer?’
Charlie Wayman Posted 29 November, 2024 Posted 29 November, 2024 In fairness, he is a very young kid living a million miles away from his family and friends stuck in a strange foreign country that is cold, wet and miserable with not even regular footabll to keep his mind busy. Picking up endless niggling injuries must be tearing his soul apart. Probably he flew to England full of hope and optimism for his future. Instead the cruel wheel of fortune keeps stopping badly for the kid; his head must be in total despair as he contemplates a bleak and increasingly uncertain future. Spare a thought for him guys and gals. Sarcy jokes for a cheap laugh surely should be beneath us. 7
Ted Bates Statue Posted 29 November, 2024 Posted 29 November, 2024 Between Larios, Manning and Taylor, we have three LBs at the club who are kept out of the side by our best RB. Meanwhile one of our better academy players of late, Jayden Meghoma, ditched us to go to Brentford and I reckon he could be getting PL experience towards the end of this season. No surprise that he would have felt his prospects of breaking into the first team were low, being behind that lot in the pecking order. I think most of those remaining LBs were free transfers so at least we haven't spent loads, but it's still not a good look for the club to stockpile defenders in this manner while overlooking our internal up-and-coming talent. 3

S-Clarke Posted 30 November, 2024 Posted 30 November, 2024 The poor lad isn't cut out for the rigours of high level football, simply doesn't have the body composition to cope with the demands. Needs to go back to Spain's lower leagues, he could still have a decent enough career at spanish lower levels in a slower paced environment.
Colinjb Posted 4 July, 2025 Posted 4 July, 2025 So, on loan to the Segunda division to a newly promoted side. Quite an important year for him.
Gloucester Saint Posted 9 hours ago Posted 9 hours ago When the thread was bumped I assumed either: - Another chronic injury - His real birth certificate was found and confirmed that SR bought a 14 year old in 2022. The fact it was neither is a positive. 1
S-Clarke Posted 9 hours ago Posted 9 hours ago I read that he's actually appeared in all their squads this season, he's only played 10-11 games, but he's been available which is positive for him. Probably puts our fitness department into question as they could never get him fit, although I personally still don't believe he's conditioned for the rigours of high level English football and never will be. I think he was always technically competent and had a good character, but you can't coach your physical structure. 1
SaintNewForest Posted 9 hours ago Posted 9 hours ago We've accepted a permanent bid for him from an unknown European club, apparently 2

I'd argue quite the opposite, in fact it's the one thing he could conceivably change and should have done whilst he was rehabilitating. You don't have to be Hulk to be a reasonable and physical player, Messi is testament to that. He certainly didn't look up to the physical rigours of top English football though.

RedArmy Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago Just Edozie left to be sold and the legacy of Joe Sheilds will all be gone. 3

Holmes_and_Watson Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago It's another step towards the end of the football manager seasons that gave us wonderkids/ top youngsters in the game of Bazunu, Larios, ABK, Salisu, Edozie and Mara.
