Jason Euell, where are you?

His last "blog" post was January 15th, before the changes:

http://www.jasoneuell.com/blog/22566.Southampton%20are%20forcing%20me%20out

Sounded like he wasn't happy at all being left out, so this new management structure would seen, on paper, to be a good way of him getting back in the team that Wotte wants the "senior pros" to lead...

But, there is no mention of him in Wottes chat with the Senior players. Kelvin, Perry et al are mentioned, but no Euell:

http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/articles/article.php?page_id=11273

Also, he didn't get a look in at the Ujpest game we may or may not have played:

1st half: Forecast, Hatch, Saeijs, Perry, Molyneux, James, Smith, Gillet, McGoldrick, Lallana, Holmes

2nd half: Forecast, Imudia, Wotton, Lancashire, Mills, Schneiderlin, Boyle, Pulis, B. Wright-Philips, Sasanowski, Gasmi

He's not injured: http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/index.php?page_id=6973

Or suspended: http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/index.php?page_id=6982

So where has a player gone that many fans believe could and should be a pivotal player during the run-in?

I've seen him in my office block. He works for company that shares a building with us!

If I see him again I'll take a photo to prove it!!

I thought he was a footballer? ;)

edit: do we pay him on a pro-rata basis if part of his time during the working week is spent on 'other business interests' ?

You're not the first one to ask that question Pancake,

Does anyone have RELIABLE information instead of stupid wisecracks ?

After all he is one of our highest paid players (according to prev. thread here) quote after AGM. in December.

A good manager would get the best out of a player like Euell, our club is a complete joke.

Freezing a play out to try and force him to leave is bad enough, doing it when you are 2nd bottom and playing complete ****e is too dumb for words.

Seconded !

Oo-er....how come we missed this one (apart from there being no mention of it on the OS of course) ?!

PFA called in over Jason Euell's dispute with Southampton

Jason Euell has called in the PFA for help after a huge row with Southampton executive chairman Rupert Lowe.

The midfielder, 31, made the move after weeks of talks about having his contract paid up came to nothing.

MLS side Colorado Rapids want to sign him.

Do Colorado Rapids have a football team?

http://www.coloradorapids.com/

Rapids Make Two Additions to Technical Staff

COMMERCE CITY, COLO. (Monday, January 26, 2009) - Colorado Rapids head coach Gary Smith announced today two additions to his technical staff as Steve Guppy joins the club as assistant coach and David Kramer returns as goalkeeper coach.

Assistant coach Steve Guppy comes to Colorado after serving as a player/assistant coach for the Rochester Rhinos during the 2008 season. Guppy holds over 15 years of professional experience in the highest levels of competitive soccer in Europe and North America.

A native of Winchester, England, Guppy's career includes stints with Southampton (1989), Wycombe Wanderers (1989-94, 2004-05), Newcastle United (1994), Port Vale (1994-97), Leicester City (1997-2000), and Celtic F.C. (2001-04). Guppy made his MLS debut with a five-game stint with D.C. United during the 2005 season. He then returned to the English leagues in 2006-07 with Stevenage Borough F.C. Recently, Guppy spent three months training with Aston Villa, as he prepared for the 2008 USL-1 season.

A crowning moment in his storied playing career was when Guppy earned a national team cap, playing the entire match for England on October 10, 1999 in a 2-1 victory against Belgium.

Kramer first joined the Rapids’ technical staff as goalkeeper coach in June 2008. Most recently, the USSF “A” license holder served as the director of coaching for the Colorado Edge Soccer Club.

Throughout his eight-year MLS career with Los Angeles, San Jose, and Colorado, he posted a 1.76 goals against average with 15 shutouts in 106 matches with 98 starts. Kramer appeared in 42 games for the Rapids from 2000-2002, including eight playoff matches. His professional career began with the Monterey Bay Jaguars in 1995, when he helped his team to the USISL Western Division championship. Kramer also played with the Colorado Foxes of the A-League in 1997.

JE "I’m still good enough and young enough to be playing regularly in either the Championship or the Premiership"

I'm sorry, but this man is deluded!

"I was absolutely horrified to find my contract details printed in the local press last week" - yeah, horrified that the truth is out and you're robbing the club. Correct me if im wrong, but i havnt seen anything of an official transfer request. that's what i'd be doing in his shoes. Truth is he knows he on to too much of a good thing.

He's dead wood as far as im concerned, the sooner he's of the wage bill the better.

I wonder if they're stalling over paying his 'loyalty' bonus?

Yes I saw that that, but he said, he'd spoken to " the gang of four," and then...went on...

" I also spoke to Wayne Thomas and Jason Euell "

Now I know that Thomas is a long term injury case, so I don't expect him to be at training or even for treatment EVERY DAY, BUT Euell isn't, neither is he suspended.....so why wasn't he around with the others who presumably meet and train together every day ????

I'm afraid I might turn this into a conspiracy case but .....what can we think?

If he's in the line-up tonight ---I'll shut up about it in future.

Its certainly looks like Euell has been frozen out of the squad, and I would guess it was due to his "row" with "Lowe" (I don't for one minute think it was a row, more a stalled negotiation; and I don't believe it would have been with Lowe alone, more likely Lowe & Wilde plus Jan/Mark and Jones).

And it also looks like that mark has spoken to him separately from the others, indicating to me that he was not at training.

Personally, I think the fact that Mark has spoken to him is positive as it leaves the door open for Euell to return to the playing squad.

It was insensitive of the club to disclose wages information, who would have done that? ;)

I know Euell is no world beater but we could certainly do with some experience and effort if we are to survive

I thought he was AOK at the end of last season, I thought he'd be key player for us this season. Perhaps Jan misinterpreted his "attitude".

I just don't see it as a money issue, he played then got sent off and didn't play any more. Unless he was adjudged to have got deliberately sent off or something, can't see that myself.

What is the issue

What is the issue

I think hes just generally trying to move him on as hes a high earner, you wouldn't disclose somones wages and not expect them to be miffed, euell is prob now actively seeking a move saving lowe the hastle of doing it

If Colorado Rapids want him, why do we not just allow them to sign him on a free. They pay no fee, we stop paying his wages everyones happy no??

I guess from one of the other posts above, the reason for that is Euell wants his huge contract paid out in full and then be able to leave on a free!! If that is the case then he is a bit of a **** given the clubs situation.

If this is not the case and as he states in his blog he wants to stay, why not just bloody play him!!! Surely its better we get something for our money instead of nothing??

I think we should support the club in their dealings with Euell as getting him off the payroll is important

Rubbish....what is important is using all assets at our disposal to

ensure ccc survival.

Not if we go into administration his wages are £150000 approx to the end of the season and he has not played well or often.

We may then a get a better loan player on less wages

But we havn't saved a penny by freezing him out. he will get all of that £150000 wether we play him or not.

Freezing him outhas achieved nothing, if anything now he will be determinded to milk the club for evey penny he can, any goodwill would have disapeared because of Lowe's attitude.

He was good at the end of last season, but has been terrible this season.

I'd forgotten about the sending off......
