Quad is not a nice injury although mine was accompanied with a badly torn meniscus.

Predictable though and whilst we are short in forward areas, at least we don’t have to pay Ross sick pay any longer.

He didn't have a proper pre-season, didn't play at the world cup. He won't play much at all this year, count me surprised if he gets to double figures. 

I liked Stewart when he was fit, but the when he was fit thing is the big issue - and without a pre-season or proper conditioning I think Swansea have walked into a bit of a disaster there. For their sake they're lucky they kept Vipotnik

Agree. I totally get that he wanted to take time to assess his options and search for that longer contract but having absolutely no preseason felt like a big mistake. Probably more of a mistake for Swansea than Ross because it’s going to write off a chunk of year one of that three-year contract, he’s got the money locked up

Vipotnik started on the bench again for them. He started their first game of the season and hasn’t started in the league since.

I feel sad for him really. He obviously doesn't get injured on purpose, it's just he is one of those players who has weaknesses in his body that mean he will unfortunately never be able to fulfil the potential he has. It must be so frustrating for him that whenever he seems to be progressing, his body sets him back again. 

That said, glad he won't be in their line up against us as we know the likely outcome of that!

Yes I feel the same despite the way he left.

It must be so depressing for him to pick up injury after injury.

I have little sympathy, he was nursed back by us to get to the WC paying him probably millions, only then to use get out due to the last gme not being played to get out. I liked him but have no time now

This one has been debated enough times. But pretty sure we also always had the option to trigger the extension at any earlier point, but we didn't do that for our own reasons. So each side did what they did to protect their own interests, fair enough, end of. In his case, he got a longer contract out of it, surely it's easy to see why he would want that security if someone would offer it given his injury record? The sympathy I have is on a human level, I would have same sympathy for any talented player who can't reach their full potential due to consistent injuries.

Swansea was always going to be his last big pay day anyway. He'll follow it up with a stint at St. Mirren where he scores 1 goal in 11 appearances before retiring.

Yes, yes, but we were still nursing him right until the end of the season. It seemed prudent to see that he didnt break down before the end of the season. I suspect the club may have felt he would show some gratitude for supporting him all that time whilst he was recovering again and again. Iam a very loyal person, but once that loyalty has been cut I am pretty unforgiving. He used a loophole to get out of his contract, this when the club was down and vulnerable, so forgive me for showing little sympathy, but he has the last laugh as he can again sit in the medical room whilst coining it in

Yes, like I said Saints protected their interests by waiting until the very last possible moment before offering him an extension (for the reasons that you state plus possibly that they weren't keen on triggering the extension in the event we were promoted?) And when we waited too long, he then looked after his own interests by seeking a longer deal, which Swansea (possibly stupidly) provided him. Not sure what the problem is there or why you are taking it so personally. "Loyalty" works both ways and in any case, I would have thought you would have worked out by now there isn't much of it about in football, particularly in the modern game!

And by the way, I don't think he will be laughing about sitting in the treatment room again, I would imagine he will be gutted that more time is being lost in his career, no matter how much he is being paid.
