Again, whatever is put as evidence you will try to rebut rather than just accepting the public really don’t like this Government one year in. Just because people are anti Labour / Starmer it doesn’t mean they are right wing. Also the polls don’t lie, including the dramatic decline of the Labour Party, and the polls are the most accurate reflection of society. Today’s signing is a reflection of that. The majority don’t support them or their policies. It’s ok to accept that rather than blindly standing up for them whenever anyone says something negative about them.

Those type of people also spent an entire flight from Rio to Heathrow racially abusing John Barnes after his wonder goal in the Maracana. And for West Ham, Leeds and Chelsea on club duty throwing bananas at Danny Wallace from the Archer cage. They also kept signing ‘No Surrender to the IRA’ long after the Good Friday Agreement was signed.

I won’t be putting any store in the ‘views’ of the England members travel club any more than I would Mark Collett from Patriotic Alternative (Nick Griffin’s former deputy).
They also spent most of Euro 2016 in the bars of Germany singing about Brexit - look how that’s turned out for them.

Quite the opposite - Reform UK spent £40k just between mid-July and mid-August 2025 on Facebook and Instagram adverts mainly about asylum.

This figure was considerably more than the main parties spent combined.

Rather drives a coach and horses through the idea of Reform as plucky underdogs clutching St George flags. Chances are the money came from overseas.

You’ve basically tarred any England fan that doesn’t like Kier Starmer with this brush which is a ridiculous statement. “If you chanted about Kier you’re a right wing facist and racist” - it’s a poor comment. We don’t live in the 1980s anymore and this was a home game against Andorra.
 

Anyway it’s immaterial - the polls are what matter. The England fans reflected what the wider country thinks. You can ignore it all you want but that doesn’t matter. It reflects  the level of dissatisfaction.

A lot of Tory donors have switched to reform now, as well as them starting to attract business. They are the largest party at this point - I think it will come down to whether labour can sort themselves out and/or whether people actually think reform can form a serious government. The tories are normally wounded as far as the next GE goes. The other question ofc is whether Corbyn splits the left wing vote - which would also be devastating for labour.

I wouldn't be at all surprised if labour push through PR to at least stop reform getting in - even if it's long term suicide for labour.

I don't think it's that unlikely that we see reform and lib Dems as the main two parties next GE.

Where did I suggest otherwise? My point is if you wanted future events like brexit or reform to be less likely to happen I would have thought the people that didn't want that would try to avoid attitudes that we know make those things more likely to happen. It does now seem that Labour are finally cottoning onto that and are trying to address some of these concerns rather than calling those people thick or racist. Remains to be seen if they can actually do something about it.

Kind of hilarious they are now talking about using army barracks -something they previously suggested was inhumane. If Reform do nothing else positive,one thing you can say is they've forced Labour into a more hardline stance on illegal migrants. If it gets them out quicker and prevents them from milling about in the community as much then all good.

Bollocks. What a load of. Unlike you, I’m not a politics-obsessed nutcase. Do you know how many England football, England cricket, rugby let alone several hundred Saints and neutral matches I’ve sung a song about a Prime Minister or any politician?

Answer: like 99% of normal people, never. Not about a Tory, Labour, Lib Dem etc. The only time I’ve ever heard it was from the Northam in solidarity with Ukraine straight after Putin’s illegal invasion.

If people want to sing about that sort of thing, go to a party conference or a Patriotic Alternative event. 

Reform has nowhere near a majority of support. 70% don’t. 48% of Remainers for a start - me included - and that figure is higher since Brexit has failed so dismally. The party I voted for has around 70 more seats for a start.
