Which premier league Soccerball club will you support next season?

Have not been interested this season in the premier league. It is a snore fest. I tend to look abroad and the lower leagues for my teams. Oh and Scotland. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

NEC - Nijmegen 🇳🇱

Hibs - 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Cambridge United - lived there for 9 years and 2 of my children were born there. Just got relegated from league One.

Carlisle - north and where I live
Torquay - first team I ever watched live at a game in Torquay on a family holiday.

Royston Town - Where I used to live and where my wife and good friends live.

AFC Totten - Local small club near Southampton
Eastleigh - used to be Swaythling FC and where I grew up in the flower estate.

I'm the same. I can't stand the Premier League. The worst thing about The Championship is that the reward for doing well is promotion into the Prem. 😕

Feyenoord - My wife is Dutch and most of her family are Feyenoord supporters. A trip to De Kuip is always enjoyable.

Luton Town - I was born there and had a season ticket in the late 80's.

Chester - Lived there from '88 - '13 and had a season ticket in the mid-90's.

Hibs - Always felt that they were a bit like Saints. Not a top team but occasionally upset the big boys, which I like. I now have family in Edinburgh so go along when I'm visiting.

If I had to follow a Prem team it would be Newcastle, simply because I love the place.

Hearts in Scotland - Used to go watch them in the mid 90's. Can't believe Sidney Fudpucker the 3rd supports Hibs (wait till I tell Dyl)!

Chester - Where I'm from, live and watch now and again (Promotion next season)

Ipswich - Soft spot just because my dearly missed mate supported them avidly

Cricket - Hampshire

Rugby League - Hull KR. I just picked them as a youngster

Hate Disney FC with a passion. Hope we smash them home and away, draw them in the cup and smash them again. If we could send them down in the process, that'd be next level.

I have a massive connection to the Netherlands 🇳🇱 and love the place. Would love to live there. Went there for the first time at the age of 12 with school on the Nijmegen walks. 25 miles a day for 4 days. Big event. Then I was back last year of school more for the attractions around Amsterdam. (Not the adult ones though)

Been back loads with 3 places I have worked having head offices there, and then met my now wife, and she used to go with her family to Duinrell in Wassenaar, which we have visited 5/6 times with our own kids. Day visits from there to keukenhof tulip gardens. The Madurodam model village.

Since then found out that my surname comes from the Netherlands, but mostly Scotland. You cannot win them all.

oh and NEC were the first foreign team I watched live abroad. 😀

The Premier League should never have changed from the Premiership. That's just one more reason I'll be supporting the tactical masterclass of Russell Martin, if he joins Rangers in the Premiership. 🙂

It will be interesting to see how he gets on, but I follow Hibs 😀

very likely I won't watch a single game, not even highlights. No interest if we're not there and even this season it was like we weren't there. However, I'd like Forest to well. When I started watching Saints they, along with us were one of the best teams, so always had a soft spot for them.

Oh on another note, I did not watch match of the day once this season! Used to be a must watch, but I have watched loads of lower and non league games. Says it all.

Also not interested the champions league, even though my 13 year old son bangs on about it… all the time. I end up turning around to him and talking about Royston Town or Torquay. We are foreign to each other 😂

We've signed Kevin De Bruyne 👏👊🔵

A bit of a drop down to my local non league...oh, you mean for one of your teams? 🙂

That must have been really pleasing to type. If only the internet was around in the early '80s..

We've signed Kevin Keegan!

Two teams I keep an eye on.

Exeter - Wife is a supporter so I often go and watch a few games a season. Proper terrace & cheap tickets, the downside is I often have to see the in laws.

De Graafschap - One of my close mates is a fan and he also follows Saints. Well supported club of a decent size who really shouldn't be bumbling around the Dutch second tier.

Probably a good time to update this thread. I was really upset with the way we performed this season, sacking Rosenior was a good idea but why appoint him in the first place?! He shouldn't be at a club as big as us

TBH i'm kind of done with Chelsea we havent won anything for ages and with no champions league football i dont know what to watch on TV during the week

I'll decide fully on sunday to see if Brighton or Bournemouth make the champions league but i've also always liked Villa, maybe i'll support them next season. What about you?

Got to be Middlesbrough for me Clive

For me it's got to be one (or more) of....

Leeds. Reason....People make noise (presumably this is measured so as to be accurate) at night time football games there.

Newcastle. Reason ...People there really like (more than anyone else likes) someone whose main job is to score goals.

Liverpool. Reason....when they play teams from mainland Europe it invariably results in a great night for all concerned.

I thought about supporting Newcastle this season but when Isaak left despite being loved up there more than anyone else in the world I thought I’d wait for them to sign another striker as they Iove a number 9

Yep, becoming proxy Middlesbrough fans for a season in the PL makes total sense... so many synergies with us: Red and White, similar stadium, a likeable and honourable owner, likely to struggle in the PL, staff exchange scheme in the analyst department already in place, unhinged fans that post nonsense on internet football forums.... anything I've missed?

Always the Villa. Lived in Birmingham during the 80’s. Went to Villa Park reasonably often as a 16 to 18 year old and was there in the glory days. Some great memories but one or two bloody awful ones as well including the throwing of bananas at black players. Strange times in many respects but Villa Park was and still is in my view the best stadium in the land.

I'm sure there's a pic of me as a kid in a Villa shirt, in an awful "look at us playing football in the garden" pose.

I'm therefore just delighted to continue to support our success in Europe. Gordon Cowans? Dennis Mortimer? I get all misty eyed just thinking back to my childhood of supporting them. 🙂

P.s. just spotted a typo in my post above.... Apologies for the erroneous 'r' in 'proxy'....

John McGinn. Now there’s a player who I would love us to have signed. I have some vague memory that about 4 or 5 years back we made an enquiry for him.

Obviously, I wouldn't need to sing "Oh when the Villa, go marching in"

That would indicate I needed it as some kind of transition chant from another club. Which would be silly, as I've only supported Villa.

I married a Black Country girl. Unfortunately her being a Baggies fan and me being Villa we don’t get on very well on a Saturday afternoon.

Took our son on the stadium tour and he sat in Unai Emery's seat in the dugout. Villa's form immediatly picked up, so our son took the credit.

"High ho Aston Villa......."

Funny one that because the Wolves also have their version. Unusual for two rival clubs to sing the same song

Around the time of Blackburn winning the League there was a kid at school who would just switch allegiance to whichever team was the best in the country. So for that reason, Arsen...... no I just cannot bring myself to say it.

Saints til i die. Which may not be long if they keep pulling stupid shit, my heart can't take it.

Although generally I'm Pro-anyone that beats either Spurs or Liverpool. Or West Ham, but they won't be there much longer.
