As far as I can tell, we are in that dangerous holding pattern which equates to ''The club are comfortable with the current situation'' - so you won't see any news, and zero rumours.

The club want Tonda to get the job, that much is clear. At this stage I don't expect any new manager this side of Christmas and we'll bumble along with Tonda.

Not sure I agree. He needs to perform at least averagely well and keep us out of the relegation zone or the club will make a change. I do wonder though if he performs alright over the next week if they will announce anything or just keep him as a permanent interim.

Pretty sure it was reported somewhere that it was Dragan personal decision to sack him, yeah.

In Serbian Trollope translates as 'mediocre'...

Its more about playing 3 centrebacks and still being defensively shite, all over the place at the back.

What on earth was that kick-off

And said wins weren't exactly convincing

Come on! If a new manager who most on here liked the name of had got those results people would have said it was an excellent start bearing in mind we had won 2 of 13 league games before that!

Personally not a huge fan of him being given the role but even as a caretaker he couldn't really have done more than two wins - one where we showed some actual fight when clearly very low on confidence to get over the line away from home and another with our best in possession performance of the season and the most comfortable home win for about 18 months!

What did you expect from those two games?!

It was a good start and he deserves some credit but the manner of the results (lets remember it's been two games, one of which he had a couple of games to do anything) is pertinent to the discussion. You could argue that QPR away was comparable to the sheffield united game in that they were two poor teams low on confidence and we managed to scrape over the line in both when we could easily have lost given how much we gave to the opposition. No one can seriously laud the sheffield wednesday performance as our most comfortable win in 18 months as if that is a big achievement. They have half a team and are forced to play their third game in a week with the same group of players because they have no alternatives. It's most likely the easiest team we have played over the last two years.

All the other clubs without coaches are now about to fill their positions.. or are very close !
we are deathly silent which is obvious we are waiting to see if wonder boy Tonda beats Charlton.. if we draw it will drag on to Leicester.. lose then I think SR will be in a uncomfortable position with the fans …. Win he gets the job imo

I can’t see him getting it ft not after fab was told he was only here interm and that’s it

As a side note, it will be interesting to see how we look after 2 weeks of his coaching.  (Charlton are obviously a considerable level up from QPR & Weds, of course).

pretty sure SR will wait to see how we get on for the next 3 games.  Like already said, 5 points or more and Tonda will be announced as permanent manager - plan A.  If we achieve <5 points, plan B kicks in (if the manager SR have identified is still available).

That's fine. But it hardly bodes well if he does get the gig full time. We struggled like fuck in the last 20 minutes or so against QPR and the fact that he got lucky in facing a team that are somehow worse than us is no particular indicator of manager ability.

It's not difficult to understand SR's dilemma and the hesitancy over their next managerial appointment having ballsed it up five times in a row and with vultures (fans) squawking overhead in anticipation of another discarded carcass. They must feel sometimes that they just cannot win.

Doing nothing seems to be their best option at the moment - i.e., promoting from within - and the least risky to their reputation and bank balance. They may have taken the view that Eckert may not succeed but nor would there be any guarantee that a new outside appointee would fare any better in which case they might as well stick with Eckert and hope their luck turns.

A win on Saturday and my bet is he's got the job for the rest of the season.

Yep. It's painful obvious that he has the job. SR just need to grow a pair and own their decision and announce it. Hardly a ringing endorsement for him if the club are apprehensive about announcing it. This club is so pathetic if they believe he is the best available to us.

Why appoint him yet.? They have the ideal situation. They can let him have a test drive and if the car runs smoothly they can then appoint or not appoint, that is the question

Do you understand how fragile the players confidence was at that stage? I know watching that after they pulled one back and having Baz in goal no wonder they were edgy.

Football is a confidence game and the players are fragile especially after last season. I wonder if towards the end of the season they might not be very keen to go up!!!

What type of result at Charlton on Saturday would it force the Club to end this temporary arrangement?   I suggest some huge scale of defeat greater than a 3-0.  After all, Nathan Jones will be looking for a win in revenge for his sacking.  Charlton are just 2 points off a playoff spot.

The sudden realisation of their stupidity, so expect it to stay the same irrespective

Tondra has clearly been told he is in charge for the next 3 games. He's got the Charlton game then Leicester is only 3 days later so no point changing then it's another 4 days until Millwall. They are 3 tough fixtures so I can't see us getting much. If that's the case SR will face more supporter unrest of their own making. They should have had an appointment lined up but have allowed the situation to drift which leaves fans believing they are hoping Tondra gets some decent results so they can get the cheap option as usual. They never seem to learn.

He's got the Leicester game whatever the result on Saturday - no point changing for a game that's only 3 days away. You don't give a new manager a couple of days to prepare for a tough fixture like Leicester at home and they usually beat us as well.
