Why are we (seemingly) the only team in the history of football where other teams "get wise" to us when playing well and thus turn us into an ineffectual team overnight? How come no one has "got wise" to how Coventry play and sniffed them out...?

Not wanting to state what is obvious, Coventry change tactics

Because we're utterly one dimensional. The oppo know to load up on Manning's flank, put balls near where Stephens should be and just shoot at Baz. We play 3 men short really every game.

Yeah, it was pretty much a rhetorical question, but frustrating nonetheless...

We’re going to be nowhere near the playoffs without some very shrewd business in January which Spors has already indicated won’t be happening. We’re leaking too many goals to challenge for promotion.

It’s worse than that, the style of football is like having a gradual anaesthetic applied to slow. Slow-slow-slow-lose the ball-rapid counter-goal.

Will keep an eye on this thread but watching the Cheltenham v Shrewsbury second half as I want to watch some actual football. Just watching the first half highlights. Great to see Whaddon Road full.

Manager after manager and the players just revert to this weak, slow, boring shite. WTF!?!?

Tonda is the "Head Coach", somebody else is defining the style of play.

I know that the anti-conspiracy theory brigade will brush this aside, but what other explanation is there...?

Woeful first half. Need much more courage, directness and composure to make the right last pass - or just bloody shoot!

Let's hope Bazunu doesn't get a shot on target.

Unless he comes up for a corner when it’s 2-1 to Oxford on 89 mins after 44 minutes of 80% aimless, slow possession with Rasmus wanking into a sock about the possession stats.

This much better at Whaddon Road already, players actually running, not walking or jogging, and a goalmouth incident and two corners in the first 3 mins.

How on earth did we allow that shot without putting any pressure whatsoever on the ball FFS.

Applying pressure requires effort.

Off the top, A combination of:-

Our set up being very reliant on a single tactic: Ralph all, Poch, RussBall etc.

Players having to play to that, rather than their strengths: Everyone under Still.

Our SR recruitment merry go round has left us forever short of options, not to mention first team roles DM and CF for a start

The same recruitment has left us with little physical power or height.

Manager-go-round has us constantly instilling things that more settled sides have got (although tenures elsewhere aren't great).

Foetus managers learning on the job, lacking the nous of others.

Fair synopsis. Despite our mini mid-season renaissance, I still maintain that Sport Republic are the wrong owners for our club.

Need subs. Can't win games with boring negative football

Introducing even weaker players off the bench isn't going to alter our benign tactics, is it...?

Takes off our best player. Sticks with 5 at the back away at fucking Oxford. Some moron will be along in a minute to tell me that THB is stepping up in to midfield though.

Probably send Bazunu up for a short corner again
