Doubt we’ll hear much before midweek. Yeah reading their site it's a vague statement "Home Supporters will only be able to purchase tickets in the Johnny Haynes Stand, Hammersmith End and The Riverside for this fixture. The Putney End will not be open for Home Supporters. Subject to sales, the Putney End may be made available." 1
Chez Posted Thursday at 14:30 Posted Thursday at 14:30 "Subject to sales" Do they mean of home tickets or away or both I wonder? They only sold 20k for the Boro 3rd round FA cup game, but I guess you will get an increase for round 5. Craven Cottage has a 29,600 capacity. I assume they will sell the remaining seats in the Putney end and not leave them empty. So are they going to be sold to home or away fans or could they still split them into say 1000 and 700? Will we be able to sell another 1700 tickets?
Chez Posted Thursday at 14:48 Posted Thursday at 14:48 Selling out before we have reached season ticket with 0 aways will give the club an idea of the demand for tickets, but if they have to pay for 1700 up front they wont do that. My guess is Fulham won't be able to sell them to their own fans, so they will allow us to sell them and not be charged for any unsold. Hope so, anyway.

I reckon we'd shift quite a few more to members and general sale so probably would fill the whole end , once hoke end goes on general sale you'll probably have away fans buying in home section so it's in their interests just to give us more Fulham away has always been popular, think everyone just enjoys a stroll through the park along the river
saintstowin Posted Thursday at 15:56 Posted Thursday at 15:56 A handful made it to members at 1230 but not very many at all so I'm sure we'd sell out the bigger allocation.

It's open to all season ticket holders and members currently, not many left of the extra 600. I had a look on Fulhams website which is completely open general sale for the home end and they've hardly sold a seat between them so not sure what they are waiting for, just give us the whole end and we should release for general sale as well Edited Friday at 15:36 by Football Special 2
Chez Posted Friday at 17:11 Posted Friday at 17:11 I agree. You'd of thought they (Fulham) would have enough experience of selling FA Cup tickets by now to know where they stood in the sales curve and the likelihood of them selling out and needing that 1100 tickets for home fans. I guess it can be a sensitive subject - if blocks are empty in the away end when home end is sold out, questions start to be asked by home supporters. This doesn't sound like one of the situations though. I suspect Saints don't want to get left holding lots tickets they cant sell, so this staggered approach is perhaps fine by them too. 1

Yeah but we've sold out the extra 600 now , seems silly as any Saints fan can just go on Fulhams website and buy in the home end , doubt they'll announce anything over the weekend now 1

Not when it's on sale to just members, you'd both need to have a membership / season ticket. Hopefully we get more tickets and they just put them on general sale 1

Just watched their game this afternoon, and they are pretty handy! 1

Yeah their reserves will beat our reserves. I am absolutely certain Tonda will have been instructed to exit the competition in this game. The following round (quarter final) is on 4th April, Easter weekend. The Premier league has no fixtures scheduled for that weekend, left free to allow their teams to focus on the cup game. On the other hand we have two fixtures scheduled that weekend v Ipswich and Wrexham, the club won't want the backlog rearranging those with full focus being on getting into the play offs. A sad reality of modern football 2

A sad reality of modern football Yeah it’s scandalous how disincentivised championship clubs are. I can accept the next round being on a weekend of full championship fixtures as not many will get through and it’s a 46 game season, but it should never be scheduled for Easter weekend when it’s a championship double header 4

As you point out though winning this conflicts with our greater ambitions for the season.
Barton Saint Posted yesterday at 08:25 Posted yesterday at 08:25 Isn’t it a real shame we are debating the relative strengths of the two teams rather than getting excited about a 5th Round tie like 50 years ago at West Brom with 10000 of us behind the Saints 4

Football Special Posted yesterday at 10:27 Posted yesterday at 10:27 Looks like we're not getting any more tickets so they've chose to leave 1200 empty seats in the putney end, very odd. Tickets on open general sale in the home end so no doubt plenty of Saints fans will end up in there instead, baffling.

A quick look on their online ticketing system https://www.eticketing.co.uk/fulhamfc/EDP/Event/Index/1009 and you can see that the've hardly sold any tickets in the Hammersmith End and Jonny Haynes stand. Hard to tell in the Riverside stand as the centre sections are unavailable as corporate, I suspect. FA cup home ticket sales probably only really start moving in the week running up to the game, so they are perhaps leaving themselves room for manoeuvre? I wonder if Saints just don't want to buy those last 1200 up front?

A sad reality of modern football Yeah it's annoying that it's on the same weekend as Easter. The issue is that the previous weekend is the international break which would be the usual slot for the Quarter finals, last week of March. They could've done in the weekend of the 21st maybe but that's only two weeks after the fifth round. And next year the international break falls at the same time as Easter so no Easter games at all for Championship teams

BARCELONASAINT Posted 22 hours ago Posted 22 hours ago (edited) I can't remember the last time i wasn't the slightest bit interested in us possibly advancing to the FA Cup quarter finals. It just says how much we could do without the distraction of the FA Cup. I really hope Tonda gives all the fringe players a run out and the first team are nowhere near Craven cottage come Sunday. Will be very interesting to see what side Wrexham put out at home to Chelsea. I really hope they put a full strength side out and pick up injuries to first team players as a result. SouthWalesSaints Posted 21 hours ago Posted 21 hours ago Genuinely excited for the game, we should go strong but cautious. Agree - got to go for it. Will be really pissed off if he puts out all the youngsters and then our League form takes a dive. That would be a wasted opportunity. Once minute they're producing the 50th anniversary shirts promoting the Cup and the next they put out a weakened team like for Leicester. Doesn't make sense. 2

TheAlehouseBrawlers Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago (edited) I listened to the latest TSP yesterday and while discussing this game it was mentioned that Tonda has expressed his acknowledgment of the importance and significance of the FA cup given it’s the 50th anniversary. But, as mentioned, that didn’t appear to be a factor when announcing an inferior side against a strong Leicester one in the last round. And I really can’t see the club prioritising this as we’re now in the thick of battling to reach the playoffs, that and promotion is where the riches lay so I’ll be pleasantly surprised if they risk a number of players for this. We play West Brom and Cov within 6 days after and, in reality, the quarter finals will potentially just be another distraction and headache for rearranging two crucial league fixtures in their eyes. Edited 5 hours ago by TheAlehouseBrawlers
Charlie Wayman Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago The biggest risk in fielding our first choice XI will be injury rather than fatigue. If, heaven forbid we were to lose Downes or Scienza for the run in, it would be curtains for our promo hopes. Personally I would go big for it on Sunday, our odds of reaching the play-offs are probably less than 10%, our odds of then beating Ipswich probably close to zero. In other words what will we have to remember this stuttering season by other than possibly a semi-final appearance? 1

What has Romeu done to be involved? Let alone involved in a match against opposition who are a step up. All well and good not prioritising the cup but sticking him in from nowhere would be unfair on all those around him.

Opta think 30.4% for Saints and 57.4% for Wrexham. Everyone else below us in the table predicted less than 9% chance. Feels very much like a 2 horse race for that 6th spot and we will need to win at Wrexham I think. Hull’s next 3 fixtures are tough, wonder if they will wobble. Ipswich win their games in hand and they are 2nd. Can see that last auto spot going to the final day. Wish they had done us a favour and beat Wrexham.
