Remember a good cake needs to be ‘moist’ (might need to start a thread on favourite words)

I'm in the anti moist gang... although dry isn't good either.

Key lime pie

Raspberry and white chocolate cheesecake

Strawberry pavlova

Carrot cake, and coffee and walnut cake are lovely. Brownies epic too. But my top 3 is a lock.

Pre-lactose intolerance:

- Sticky Toffee Pudding

- Baked Alaska

- Spotted Dick

I can find lactose free versions of the latter as fine with eggs but the first two just don’t work lactose-free. I’ve tried with STP and it’s nowhere near what I used to make myself or enjoy eating out.

There’s an amazing chocolate and orange jaffa-type cake that a garden centre over the Warwickshire border, Hillers (not Hilliers) does DF. I now make banana bread via the Hairy Bikers recipe which is a favourite.

Honourable mentions to Battenberg and Frangipane.

I prefer a Flan.

Devils deeds mate, vile. A savory item posing as a cake, as the CoT used to warn us, beware of false prophets

Chocolate bread and butter pudding (Delia recipe, obviously).

Swiss roll (cheap and cheerful available at any good Co-op).  Honourable mention for the frozen version, Arctic roll, which is harder to come by.

Crème brulé. Cos I'm middle class, innit.

Yep. Does the CoT have an official cake? It strikes me as Red Velvet cake kind of organisation.

Has no one mentioned crumble? With ice cream, clotted cream and double cream, and maybe custard

I've only mentioned cakes, but any pudding top 3 will include a crumble. Apple or cherry.  Not as many toppings as yours though, custard for me.

The Rome cream buns are epic, Cafe Nero do them and they’re not bad but not a patch on them in Rome

The second one I had in Stockholm recently a customer brought them to a meeting for us, their daughter works in bakery that makes them I forget what they are called but were wonderful
