Impressive support yesterday but as above the range of songs could have been better.

Also, impressed by the range of yellow away shirts brought out of the wardrobes after a few years. Ranging from the 80’s classics including the ‘flame effect’ , and some others (including  Hummel and Pony) designs I’d forgotten existed.

If just like to say I was pleasantly surprised by the lack and f songs about Pompey yesterday though. Don't think I heard the 'get your father's gun' song once.

Absolutely superb. Lovely weather, excellent voices heard throughout - before, during and after the match.

Always consider how attractive the fans are, too. Our fanbase seemed to have a far more handsome and beautiful set of specimens compared to that ugly bunch of northerners. 😇😉

I was there yesterday.

You can’t get many songs going in Wembley because of the acoustics and the size of it. It’s why ‘yellows’ and OWTS work. Because they’re simple and can get the whole crowd involved.

As for that city forum.. fucking nonsense. Both sets of fans mixed everywhere and there was barely any trouble. You’re always going to get some knobheads at a big game.

Probably none of them posting on there have ever been to a game before. Bunch of plastic corporate soulless pricks

If you had travelled north after the game like I did, you would have heard plenty.

I actually really fucking hate city.

Corporate, soulless financial cheaters. Their accolades mean nothing.

I won’t even watch the final as it’s cheats v cheats. Two clubs that are literally a stain on football

Not so much about the atmosphere in the ground but this doesn't reflect well at all on us either - https://forums.bluemoon-mcfc.co.uk/threads/southampton-fans-coming-out-today.371554/

Yeah like all clubs we've all got our tossers sadly. But that just a reflection of society.

All I saw was both sets of fans being pretty respectful, with some good banter between them.

I was shocked how bad they were though, I always had good respect for their fans as they've always been pretty humble and respectful, whilst also being pretty loud "proper" fans. But it was strange fromthem Saturday, generally heard them once or twice.  Not sure if thats because we were so loud for most of the game, or whther they just didn't sing.

I know it's a second home for them, and we're "small fry" but I would still expect the ones that turned up to be pretty loud.

I'll admit I made a pretty hasty exit to get back to Wembley Central and make sure I was able to get the last available train back (just to reiterate...shit kick off time...), but there were definitely a handful of Saints fans who came across as utter bell ends getting in the face of elderly City fans/young families coming out the ground.

Had hoped it was just an isolated incident, but perhaps not...

On the whole though, our fans were marvellous!

Only grief my daughter (who's only 12) and i got on the way back was from pompey dicks.....walking to the train, and then on the train too. One even got escorted away from the train by transport police for knocking on the train window from the platform and giving it the w@nker gesture to a few of us.

Was some "lively" banter with citeh fans walking back but it was all pretty good natured.

I think that’s the point. For the few of them that went there was zero atmosphere

Yeah the problem being that the vast majority of our fans there yesterday either don't go to away games or sit in the quieter parts of St Mary's, so probably don't know the words to a lot of the other songs. So if we want the whole crowd singing then it needs to be the obvious classics.

A small pocket of fans near me tried getting the father's gun song going, but it didn't travel far (thankfully - I think it's a cringey, tinpot song that needs to get in the bin).

Yes we generally sung 2 songs but Im glad we didnt end up singing songs about Pompey. IMO we were awesome

I got on the last train back to Liverpool. Handful of City fans on my carriage, but not many. Actually seemed to be more Arsenal and West Ham fans...

To be fair our support always turns up in the big games.

A number of relegation battles when at The Dell

Villa Park 2003

Cardiff 2003

JPT Final Wembley 2010

League Cup Final 2017 Wembley

San Siro 2017

Play Off Semi 2024 - home to WBA

Play off final 2024

FA Cup Quarters Arsenal 2026

Today FA Cup Semi

Yes, we can always go toe to toe when it matters.  Over the years I think it's shocked oppo fans.  One odd game that stands out was the FA Cup Quarter Final v Brighton in 1986, which we won 2-0.  We had the whole uncovered Goldstone Lane side and end of the ground (10-12k?) and frightened the life out of the locals.  Biley was a sub for Brighton and absolutely shit himself :)
