I notice it only mentions the points deduction with us and not the others clubs, does that mean they have info that we are about to go into admin?

Doubt it, with the possible exception of Chester the 10 point deductioin would not make much difference to the others. Stockport are comfortable mid table, Charlton and Cheltenham are as good as down, Darlo are mid-table, Bournemouth are already in admin.

Surely the key to all these issues are the wages paid to players. These have to be reduced. We have some big earners coming to the end of their contracts. Hopefully we will still be in the championship. But we cannot carry on paying the likes Euell the money he is on next season.

I thought that after the 23rd March - i.e. yesterday - the points deduction that came with going into administration applied to next season

so if we go into administration on Thursday but stay up we would start next season on

minus 10 points

the gamble being that we would then finish 10 points above the bottom three next season!

that makes more sense to me than taking the 10 points this season and guaranteeing relegation

if we stay up this year we will get an extra £2.1 million from TV money next year for being in the CCC

that's worth the gamble!

Not my understanding. I thought the deadline for losing the points this season was doing the deed before this coming Thursday?

Probably a bit more than that actually.

There's the new BBC deal plus would I be right in thinking that if Reading and Birmingham go straight back up their next seasons Parachute payments are divided amongst the CCC clubs??

Tony Husband just made an off the cuff remark about this week being "interesting" because Thursday is the deadline for clubs to go into administration and take the points deduction, this season. He didn't mention any names but I can't think of any other clubs in the South Today region, bar us, that could be about to make such a decision.

Or he could speculating as much as anybody else.

We'll see in about 40 hours.

People quote "Thursday" as the -10 points deadline day but anyone know what time exactly on Thursday? Is it 'by Thursday' (i.e. midnight Wednesday) or 'by end of Thursday' (i.e. midnight Thursday)....or somewhere in between?

Nothing we didn't already know, but we are named as one of seven clubs in financial trouble in the daily mirror today. Us and Charlton being the highest profile of the 7.
