MLT on SSN confirmation of Consortium involvment

Recommended Posts

To be fair nick a lot of bidders come in at the last minute, that is common practice. I can understand people being sceptical, but guys we seem to be in a much better position than last week. It was no bids other than someone to do with lowe. Now it is at least 2 bids, matt le tiss involved and another decent bid. I trust the farmer as much as I trust anyone. He is a huge saints fan and a top bloke so whatever happens trust him please.

No...There is and has been only one bid. MLT will support this bid if it is accepted .

He will support any buyer who will take the club forward

Sorry, who are you mark fry? Have you read anything on this site?

No he is not Tris. I have his name. He must be careful not to get too enthusiastic with his posts or he will likely be damaged as many of us were over the previous "takover" nonsense.

Well i think i'm getting warm and it's one of the characters we've seen on here before.

now I am confused! thought you said his support was for a group opposed to the only ones who have bid!
Where did I say that? I know he has contacts within Pinnacle but CM is correct Matt will support the bid that is best for Saints. Read my earlier posts on here. I think you will find I said that today

No he was asked to support the bid he was supporting but will support any group who takes us forward. I would imagine if the other group were good for the club and they win that he will be happy to support them. Not sure if he knows who they are though?

Sweepstake on the time the forum will crash on Wednesday and go into meltdown?

I'm going for 14:23 :p

After two years of waiting for a takeover I choose tomorrow to go abroad for a conference...tell Mr Allen to hold fire on the welcome party until the weekend. Thanks

So Weston, MLT isn't directly involved with any consortium but is willing to help whoever buys the club, in some capacity?

Also, if you know the identity of the people who have formally submitted a bid are they "household names"?

I do not know the identity of the "money". I have asked not to have that revealed to me and my contacts have honoured that request . That was that if a name gets out I cannot be held responsible for any leak.

I am not supporting any bid. I just want the club to be saved, stabilised and with a future

Thinking about it i don't buy this stuff about his real name being Lance.

1) It's a bit of a daft name and few parents would called their kid it.

2) I think the corny lancelot stuff is a deliberate choice of name to signify a "knight in shining armour".

3) You wouldn't be that open Ron.

Agreed. I think it's time for us fans to sit back and wait to see what happens over the next week or so.

We've waited years for an actual takeover, so a few extra days can't hurt can they!?

I am getting off this thread. My contacts are getting edgy and further comment will not serve any purpose.

Be patient please.

Might not be a bad thing in truth. Whilst your posts are interesting and insightful, too much speculation can be a bad thing, as we all know too well from previous 'takeovers'. Time for us fans to relax and wait to see what happens.

As much as I am dying to know more please could anyone actually ITK keep their council on the forum? This includes the hints.

Once any deal in signed and sealed we can hear the who did what and when and discuss the relative merits of the offer(s).

I am sure internet tittle tattle wouln't prejudice a sell though out multi-million pound business deal, but as they say in Casino before they bump off Andy Stone "Why risk it?"

Fingers crossed that we will have a club to speak of next season and that this is the turning point we are all hoping for.

again being cynical using MLT could be so they hope to put pressure on the administrator to accept what may be a lesser offer, or just to give them a little more time.We have to hope that the best bid is the best bid for us.

I've been saying the exact same thing since the Le Tissier story broke. Be wary IMO.

It seems, various posters and the press have been reading the forum and contacting Pinnacle and asking questions. As we all know there is nothing definate at present and as far as I am aware they have not yet completed DD with Mark Fry.

The following has just been sent to me to put up on here.

The facts as of present are.

1. They have already assessed the value of the bid and know that fundamentally this will be agreeable to the administrators and creditors alike (that’s the easy part :) )

2. The long term commitment is harder to assess. They are currently working on various projections but please appreciate the amount of variables.

3. Their client does not just want to buy the club, they want to turn it around within 4 seasons, with a minimum goal of at least an attempt at promotion to the top flight within that period.

To be honest I think they have done this so people stop hounding them for questions until they can come out publically this week. But again I stress, please dont get too excited as nothing is definate yet. We know there is another bid with the administrator which may even be better. Like I said before just because MLT is involved does not make it a better or definate.

Is David Beckham involved?

Some arabs?

Fat tw @ with a briefcase?

OK, voice of dissent here, but this Pinnacle lot seem completely shoddy. The three point response sent to the admin sounded like a Marc Jackson infomercial for his backers, the website is a joke and we are back to posting on websites to drum up support using a big name ex-player.

I like the first group - quiet, professional, got a bid in without a word to anyone. No ITK about them - all the knowledge they even exist is because others have outed them.

All aboard that train I say.

Here is a chronological sample of Lances posts:

I understand that this same bloke fulthorpe had tried to broker some bizarre deal involving refinancing debt (he has no money of his own) for some time, but never proved good for the deal, time and time again........ dig about and you'll find some horror stories about the time wasting that went on according to what I've been told.

well reading other posts on various pages it seems that some southampton based property owner/agency has strong links to MLT and we might just get to hear a bit more "imminently"..... heres hoping lol

If you/your mate know MLT why not just phone him up?? Would answer this one way or another!! Is he on Sky today??

I've found a chief exec at rbs called lynam, how many do they have?!?

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/business/3698322.stm

I have it on good authority that MLT is backing one of the potential buyers who are willing to inject some cash while they carry on their due diligence...... be nice to hear some confirmation of this....

Id rather hear it from MLT or perhaps even Mr Fry? But watch this space....

lol!!! but at least this ties in with with we've been taking about all week

http://www.pinnacleproperty.net/contact.htm

I'm lost, what's the spoof website?

I've taken the bull by the horns and phoned Pinnacles director. He wouldnt/couldnt confirm the clients but did confirm he was engaged in talks on behalf of 2 clients who want to buy the club. I asked about fulthorp and he said he didnt even know who that was

LOL!! I do know some things about them though, but cant say too much! Watch this space is all I can say.. or phone them yourself!

Summary (my guess for bits I dont know!!!)

Lynam knows MLT, not sure how but there are picures of them playing golf

Facebook has a Lynam page - anyone his "friend"

Pinnacle work with administrators

SFC (sorry parent company) are in administration!!

I'm going to email Pinnacle and see if I get a reply!!!

REPLY FROM ENQUIRY TO PINNACLE WITHIN THE LAST HOUR:

Lance

Thank you for our e-mail.

At this stage, it would be inappropriate to make any details known about our client, or his interest in the potential purchase of Southampton FC and its associated companies.

I am however willing to confirm what has already been confirmed to the press. Myself and my colleagues are in the process of assessing various aspects of this deal, and have engaged in the due diligence process with the administrators. It is a confidential matter, and until such time that a deal has been agreed, no further comments can or will be made.

We are aware of Mr Le Tissiers comments to local press, and are pleased to have his support, should I recommend that this purchase goes to completion. In the meantime, please respect the privacy of our client and the hard work being done by the Administrators in finding the best possible solution to the current position the Club finds itself in.

With kind regards

Tony Lynam

Managing Director

What i find interesting is that at 11.04 Lance posted that he was going to email pinacle and at 12.14 he'd got a reply and posted it up on here!

Not just a reply, but a reply from the managing director. That was rather quick in my opinion and when you tie this in with the flowing nature of the posts i smell a PR campaign going on like has happened so many times before.

I now have a very good idea who Lance is.

For god's sake everyone, stop thinking you are some massively wise person and stop being so negative. It all points to good things at mo. We are all acting like children. I think weston has been really good saying what he has. If you look at previous takeovers on other clubs the people in question usually do make some of their bid common knowledge. I think that is a very good sign. Le tiss isnt stupid, lets have faith and if it all goes wrong, then we can have an inquest, but jesus, give these guys a chance.

He needs to tread carefully. Likewise ITK posters must not get sucked into a PR champaign. IMO anyone with info should now refrain from posting further infomation until it's in the public domain, unless it's deemed in the club's interest.

I agree with you. The MLT link sounded good, but from what i've read on here today alarm bells are now ringing.

As i said earlier - Saints are beggars so we can't be choosers - but if there is a choice i'd much rather have owners that can be trusted to run the club and not involve themselves in spin and fan manipulation. We've been there, done that, and worn the Saints go wilde T-Shirt. Forgive me if i don't want the circus to carry on.

think those who think what is said on here has influence on what may or may not transpire are kidding themselves - being over dramatic.

The deal will work or not based on their discussions not ours.

So if you want to update fellow fans / discuss what you have heard great.

But please less of this "I have said too much must go now" stuff.
