Stu Man Do Posted 6 June, 2009 Share Posted 6 June, 2009 Surely if has been reported on here the Nathan Dyer money was held by the league to pay our football debts Pinnacle will have had to pay the vast majority of the 500k for this months wages? IMO until something more solid than "a source inside the club" comes out with some info we have to take TL's message on here at face value. PINNACLE IN TRYING TO PAY LESS shocker would just about sum up that article.

NickG Posted 6 June, 2009 Share Posted 6 June, 2009 does this paragraph sound like it was written by someone who knows what they are talking about -or someone who is making up a story with no facts to be a drama queen? "The period of exclusivity began on Friday 29th May and lasts for three weeks. The fact that nothing has been agreed within the first week is evidence in itself that this was never going to be a straight-forward deal"??? Nolan Posted 6 June, 2009 Share Posted 6 June, 2009 it looks like that site asks for volunteers to run the "news site" for each club. so in effect it's a fan's blog and should be seen as about as reliable as an ITK forum poster.

Katalinic Posted 6 June, 2009 Share Posted 6 June, 2009 An article like this was always likely to appear during the 3 week period of exclusivity. More like to be for "agenda" reasons than any truth IMHO - whose agenda and to what ends, who knows?
doggface Posted 6 June, 2009 Share Posted 6 June, 2009 Sounds like a load of balls. The deal has been agreed for some time, they have paid for exclusivity. NickG Posted 6 June, 2009 Share Posted 6 June, 2009 in the forum the author states "before you despair too much, I must say that this news does not come to me directly, but through someone I trust. Therefore, do not take it as gospel truth, rather the potential truth" potential truth = potential lies
Fowllyd Posted 6 June, 2009 Share Posted 6 June, 2009 Why should anybody pay any more attention to this than to the mutterings of ITK types on this forum? The writer claims to know major details of what's happening but offers nothing whatsoever to back it up. It's no better than the Echo's approach of "The Echo understands that...", yet the writer derides the Echo for speculating. Maybe it's a sign of the times, but I feel highly disinclined to take anything on trust right now; rather, I feel highly inclined to question the motivations (and indeed sources) of anybody publishing stuff of this sort. Master Bates Posted 6 June, 2009 Share Posted 6 June, 2009 Saw that yesterday, one of the forum posters on that forum came out with it all, and now obviously someone's turned it in to a supposedly true story. The same guy posted on the forum saying he had an e.mail from Mark Fry saying everything was fine, the e.mail I believe ended up being proved to be fake, as did the rest of it. up and away Posted 6 June, 2009 Share Posted 6 June, 2009 pinnacle would not be that naive to bid at a lower price than the break up price. The real question is, can you put an effective value on the break up price in this climate? You have assets in the property sector, all with restrictive planning options in a totally depressed property market. It would not surprise me that someone is playing hard ball over this valuation and it does make sense. What does not make ense is Fry extending the deadline for a month and running up further debt that would leave his cv liable for a serious kicking. Fry has no interest in us and is just looking after his own position and that of the creditors, anything else would be totally stupid. Tony Lynham does not come across as a bull****er and I doubt Matty would put himself into this position, even in these desperate times. The only thing that gives this story any credence is the reluctance of our mystery backer to become public. I think there is justification for concern until our banker comes to light, but I feel there are more reasons to be optimistic.
INFLUENCED.COM Posted 6 June, 2009 Share Posted 6 June, 2009 Bit of a non story and nothing that has not been speculated on here by many, the 500k exclusivity part especially, Dyer money conflicts with what we are to believe and what seems closer to fact. Have the jungle drums simply beat louder and rumour has gathered momentum ?
Greedyfly Posted 6 June, 2009 Share Posted 6 June, 2009 Sounds like a load of balls. The deal has been agreed for some time, they have paid for exclusivity. Due dilligence complete, all the official quotes the last week have been encouraging. Without even a hint of stirring anything whatsoever, if this is the case why has everything not been finalised, and the backer announced? This way we can get on, have a proper pre-season, and for once properly prepare in the close season. I don't, for a second, buy into the claims made on this thread but the very nature of being a Saints fan makes me nervous. Any info?
Saint Charlie Posted 6 June, 2009 Share Posted 6 June, 2009 The three week period will undoubtedly attract stories like this but im confident things are ok. The reality is virtually anyone knows anything about what is really going on aside from a handful closely involved. A week ago today TL posted his letter and im sure things are progressing well. Those fan sites always post a load of drivel and im sure its no different in this case. Lets just be patient.

kelkel31 Posted 6 June, 2009 Share Posted 6 June, 2009 i think this just continues the climate weve been in at saints for a long while. almost all of us are completely in the dark to the clubs REAL state of affairs and also in respect to the current progress and terms of any deal. we have very little reason to fully believe anything that its presented to us weather it be from official sources of from the number of ITK's that keep popping up. the absence of official news coming from MR Fry(whether we believe it or not) is not good and only continues the cycle of 'spin and lies' that none of us as saints fans are happy with! we have 2 choices(although really we have 1) we can either sit back and wait for things to be concluded or we can continue to speculate, present and discuss rumors. either way its our own personal choice and we all have to face up to one fact, we have no place or influence on what is happening, we just have to live with the outcome! LostBoys Posted 6 June, 2009 Share Posted 6 June, 2009 No source named - rest is conjecture. Weston Super Saint Posted 6 June, 2009 Share Posted 6 June, 2009 It does however carry a ring of truth and fits the known facts. What facts? The fact that the FA kept the money from the Dyer deal to pay off our footballing debts? Or the fact that Tony Lynam has gone on record as stating everything is progressing in the manor he hoped? Or the fact that the article will not name it's source because it is complete horsesh1 t?

dubai_phil Posted 6 June, 2009 Share Posted 6 June, 2009 There is a rush to rubbish this on here, but take a few seconds more. Personally I believe it is untrue, however as I mentioned before this rumour appears to have originated in the City, NOT locally. I know nobody cares or believes it but this has not come from MJ. If you don't believe that then you may as well stop reading this now. The PROBLEM is however that it has come from SOMEWHERE. And, IF you take it that it is NOT MJ, then WHO ON EARTH would have something to gain by putting this story out there? If (as I think is the case) everything is fine, then it will not have any effect on Tony & his team and it won't have any effect on Fry & his team. So where is it aimed at? unsettling the fans? unsettling the money man? Why the hell does something always seem to pop up? - "Dark Forces" again And to what purpose? The only options I can see to start this story would be The Pantomime Villain which I know is not the case Somebody with a grudge from the past (MW or RL or maybe even JP) trying to cause trouble The other mystery foreign bidder or the deposed Irish Salz's last minute salvation The guys who dropped out of Pinnacle Group Fry himself trying to put pressure onto Pinnacle to get a move on or the guy who dropped out of the MJ group when asked to pay the deposit. Probably could even be that White Witch we supposedly p*ssed off when she exorcised SMS Forgetting the fact that it is well out of order, this is ODD and it makes me seriously wonder why?
