  1. I use to go to the 'news' page but now go straight to the forum as I know the news was out of date. I'm sure I'm not the only one. What is the aim of the news page for a forum? Perhaps answering that question will decide it's fate.
  2. Just picking up on this point. I could see glimpses of a good footballer in Schneiderlin - picking up the ball and passing out wide and breaking up Oldham attacks as well as good ball control and touch, so he certainly is capable of more, however as you say he seemed to check his run forward and the partnership with Chaplow didn't work.
  3. This is the bit I don't get, all the players worked hard, I didn't see any player shirk that responsibility. I've seen Puncheon play a few times and this is the poorest I've seen him play, whereas he's made a real contribution to the game be crossing, pass & move, shots etc. An interesting observation by hamster though: certainly better in a discussion thread than ridiculous statements such as: or There was one moment in the second half Puncheon receive a ball in space with one defender to beat, yet he didn't try nor did he delivery a decent cross. You could see his frustration that he should have done better. See above and it wasn't the only time. At least with Lallana you could see he was trying to make the most of the situation with his skill, it didn't pay off until the second half. When oxo came on he always tried to cut inside or go down the line, it didn't always work, but he was willing to attack.
  4. I thought it was two each with guly. It was the otherwise to me and the linesman did seem to be over zealous. Still it didn't detract from a poor performance.
  5. Just back from the game and it was a scrappy affair. After all the talk of the tranmere game, I was expecting a passing game with plenty of width, but saw very little of either. There just seems to be something wrong in the midfield as it's not linking up with the defence or attack, a bit disjointed. Kelvin - 6: Not much to do except the class save at the end. He did nearly give it away at then edge of the box with a short pass to Fonte Harding - 6: Game of two halves, did little right attacking-wise with poor crosses and distribution but put that right in the second. Butterfield - 7: competent performance, got more into the game as time went on. Fonte - 8: A rock in defence although came under pressure at the end plus a goal to get us back in the game Seabourne - 7: works well with Fonte, did enough to quell any Oldham attacks. Lallana - 7: wasn't protected by the referee until late on in the game, it seems the team just expects him to do something if they get the ball to him, if only he got some support. Did better second half with a bit more space and support. Schneiderlin - 6: too deep first half and didn't work well with Chaplow how was in front of him, some good touches but needs to get another 5-10 yards up the pitch. Chaplow - 7: industrious and tried to support the attack but was a bit lost with so much pitch to cover. Did better in the second half when Morgan was beside him. Puncheon - 4: Poor touch, poor decisions, no width and caught off-side. Lambert - 6: not much went his way despite his endeavour. It's strange as last season he won most of his headers and put away the odd chance that he had in this game. Guly - 6: huffed and puffed but didn't do much, even messed up the one on one. He was making some runs but was never seen by team mates. Barnard - 7: Harried and hustled all the time. He caused the oldham defenders trouble with his runs and challenges for the ball. Chamberlain - 7: immediate impact, did so well for the goal and was a useful outlet on the right.
  6. report on the promotion push with other fans not liking it: http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/football-league-blog/2010/oct/20/portsmouth-millwall-premier-league-quality?showallcomments=true#end-of-comments
  7. No one looks promotion certs in this division, Brighton have shown good form but I think they've had an easy run of fixtures. I certainly expect promotion for the Saints, however it will not be easy and it will take seven months to do it.
  8. A token doesn't make it free. Anyway, where is the community spirit or does it only exist in South Cambs?
  9. super model from Brazil: Alessandro ambrosio kelly brook:
  10. I hope not, he cost me £12 at the FF auction, I want to see a return!
  11. and 23 mill has come in. As they dumped one of the two french keepers for what he did at the memorial service for those that died at Hillsborough and the other has only played 7 cup games in 3 seasons, they needed a decent no 2. Agree most are pretty dross, although Roy didn't know new funds were going to be available and got what he could, which was the same as Benetiz did who surprisingly turn his tranfers into profit. H&G bought Liverpool for £175m and got £300m for it, not bad when they didn't use their money!
  12. Well, it looks like Vassell is off to Leicester so we can forget about him.
  13. more about strachan in the guardian if interested. ...and Hoddle was **** poor on man management but has found his niche in coaching youngsters.
  14. That's 19K and 21k respectively, not 40k each (as that would be Nugent and Utaka)!
  15. Not an expert like Clapham, but yes, payments will only start when out of admin. So is Tom Lever still waiting in the wings?
  16. I've been reading that for years, even last season's lost was easier to take after reading the piece Danny put together.
  17. The last day will be today. The board have agreed the sale to NESV by majority vote which has been backed by the High Court. H&G will need to either withdraw their TRO or the judge chucks it out otherwise they'll face a spot in jail for contempt of court! Phil - the amount of interest Man Utd have to pay has gone down after the refinancing, which iirc was £70m. As they have income of over £100m, it's manageable, although a slip out of the top four will be interesting.
  18. Well, those that disagree with SAF find their way out of the club... Van Nistleroy, Stam and Beckham etc.
  19. which board?
  20. I see what you did there, instead of the 5+ pages of debate, you went straight to the conclusion! Anyway, I just like to add that I haven't seen any annoucement of a Fans Forum to postpone, but think it's a good idea.
  21. That can at least be off set with a sell-on clause on his next contract which seems usual practice when setting value for youngsters these days at tribunal
  22. again? it never left and now with Adkins as manager, I'm sure promotion will happen this season.
  23. And the way we are playing we'll be getting quite a few more going.
