  1. https://www.nytimes.com/2017/12/13/sports/soccer/premier-league-goalkeeper-stuart-taylor.html A summary of his long but brief GK career and a focus on his Saints activities.
  2. A few snores or a chorus of wake me up before you go-go. Left me sleeping In my seat. I was dreaming Of the shuffle and side-ways pass. Wake me up before you go go, Don't leave me hanging on like a yo-yo. Wake me up before you go go, I don't want to miss it when you hit that pass.
  3. Time to get a bit of shooting practice in while the game birds are resting.
  4. He’s a decent supporting player but not a game changer sort of player and needs others to help bring the skills out that he has, where as Redmond runs about a lot.
  5. From the information Reed is quoted as saying in the article, there was some departure to this Southampton Way in bringing in Koeman and we are now as far away from it as we could possibly be.
  6. Les is vice chairman. Who is technical director? Is that Ross? I see Emenalo has resigned at Chelsea. A well liked and knowledgeable bloke.
  7. He’s beyond borrowed time. What does he need to do to get dropped?
  8. Depends if you are on the inside with more information at hand. What was insane was employing him in the first place especially with the squad of Big Sam style players.
  9. No, he wants you to lead the class action against the PL and UEFA with these unfair FFP rules. When you start to lead the boycott, the authorities are bound to notice and demand all clubs in a league gets the same amount to spend on players... just like it used to be (not).
  10. Team progression is what counts rather than money received or the call to spend it all. It's getting the right player in which isn't an exact science. It would be interesting to hear from some first teamers if this side show is a distraction or if it has been isolated enough from them. There is also VvD's mental aptitude to apply himself to the team's cause after the window is closed.
  11. He’s a good player with lots of potential so the sort of player Saints would be interested in, a ball playing CB with an aerial threat. Played well for Borussia Monchengladbach in the Bundesliga and Champions League. As OldNick states, there is no chance he’s coming here, especially if he’s starting to get game time in Chelsea’s first team.
  12. A combination of the two, hence why having a good manager is essential.
  13. I think you need to change your name to mystic meg! I remember when Blackpool and Hull first came up and did extremely well the first half of the season but then drifted down the table to a relegation dogfight. Huddersfield may survive as the team spirit and team tactics are in place but it will more than likely be a struggle.
  14. I'd say we have better players but not a better team at the moment. They are playing with confidence and the message from the manager is getting through on how he wants the team to play which hasn't changed from last season so they have an advantage in that respect. It will be a tricky game.
  15. It's sporting just clause, in FIFA rules. Never heard of a footballer take it on and difficult to prove. Schweinsteiger could have taken that route but didn't. Generally the standard length is 3 years as after that, players can buy (or the new club) out the remaining length to move on.
  16. I would hope the club can help Barcelona in anyway in achieving their target. As for VvD, the price hasn't deviated although with no loyalty payment, it maybe easy for the buying club to reach an agreement.
  17. I can't see why, it was a hilariously funny. More please!
  18. Yet I hear Clinton is still less popular! Has politics reached the bottom of barrel in the US or is there a way to go?
  19. Agree. Don't see a down side to this. Hopefully do well as he has at each age group he's played at Saints.
  20. That's only looking at a third of the equation. He'd bring much needed goals and transitional play from midfield for us. Swansea will need the money to replace their best player to help them survive this season.
  21. Well, Liverpool certainly seem to think he will! Interesting that Chelsea's new midfielder is in a similar situation but has had surgery and the deal went through.
  22. Added to that, it's getting the correct blend of experience and youthful exuberance in the team.
  23. I hope to join you.
  24. It doesn't matter how good he is, it's what he's worth to Swansea. Why shouldn't they squeeze as much out for themselves. He was their best player the last few seasons and they have to replace him with someone that can help keep them in the Premier League. £50m will help purchase two or three decent players that can help in that regard.
  25. When did Mickey enter the club house? Or is it the last act of the community club so Mickey isn't tarnished and too late to reinstate them?
