  1. There is no point having players, especially at that age, filling up the squad unless they truly offer something to the first team. As you say, I don’t see Tom fulfilling that brief from his career so far.
  2. The clubs below the super league six are pointless now. This is the reality of modern football, all we can hope for is a cup run (Leicester), a wealthy benefactor (Newcastle) or a golden crop of players to get the team winning for a season. Reality for Saints is to try and be the best of the rest but currently there are so many parts of the club that are not providing anything to the first team or success to the club.
  3. First once, not as it stands. Need a good summer transfer wise.
  4. A fair few had us down for relegation at the outset.
  5. Depends on what Sports Republic can offer. At the moment next season survival is on the line without some major changes either to the first team or supporting structure.
  6. Is Diaz warming up yet?
  7. If City lose 2-0, and Liverpool put five past Saints on Tuesday, they’ll go into the last game dead even on points, goal difference and goals scored.
  8. It’s a shame we haven’t been able to capitalise with results against the Other 14 to have a bigger impact on our league standing. Summer will be a good time to work on what is needed ready for next season which will be split for the WC and the big six club players will be busy.
  9. So…no play off heartbreak and another season in League One to look forward too!
  10. The only saving grace is Everton is closer to the drop with this result.
  11. Qualify for group is €3.6m win group match €630k draw group match €210k 1st in group €1.1m 2nd in group €550k Champions League is ~5 times the prize money!
  12. The good old game of prisoner’s dilemma or perhaps in this case it should be player’s dilemma. Saints are being seen to be cooperative, seeking a competitive advantage - having a pick of the higher end young players, perhaps not the elite (but maybe one day). The player can see all the benefits and pitfalls. Certainly a clearer view for the player and Saints are likely to get to know the real player as it seems personality is also considered as a criteria for a good fit with the club.
  13. I thought they only rent it?
  14. Best wishes and I hope Saints can produce some good results and play well to make you happy. Hugs to you and your loved ones.
  15. The curious story of Robert Malone
  16. like a Grandma, obviously. 😜
  17. That's right, although SimpleSi thinks it's a poison, it's all coming back to me now.
  18. A bit of fun from AC12 Jed Mercurio (@jed_mercurio) Tweeted: https://t.co/0m2zjzZXL2
  19. Hameed is a strange one as he showed great promise on his debut years ago. Is it possible for him to turn it around or is the damage from this latest excursion with the test team beyond repair?
  20. It seems to be more of an ignorance issue all round. The Spectator is analysing data which answers different questions which were put to SAGE. They do raise a good question of why the government didn’t include likelihood assessment but that would probably be beyond any government minister when it comes to ‘science and data analytics’, hence why the phrase ‘trust the experts’ gets overused.
  21. Starting lineups: Wolves v Southampton Wolves: Sa, Gomes, Ait-Nouri, Kilman, Coady, Semedo, Dendoncker, Moutinho, Trincao, Jimenez, Podence Subs: Moulden, Ruddy, Jordao, Silva, Giles, Sanderson, Traore, Cundle, Campbell Southampton: Forster, Bednarek, Perraud, Lyanco, Salisu, Tella, Romeu, Ward-Prowse, Diallo, Redmond, Broja Subs: Caballero, Walker-Peters, Stephens, Long, Armstrong, Adams, Small, Armstrong, Valery
  22. Let's see how much Sue Gray can find and not find about this alleged party event: 'Even when a document trail exists, Ms Gray is enthusiastic about keeping it a secret. We know that she advised special advisers on how to destroy email (by "double-deletion") to thwart FOIA requesters.' from a BBC article (2015) about her.
  23. My mistake… from Abstract: A decrease in infectivity to ~10 % of the starting value was observable for SARS-CoV-2 over 20 minutes, with a large proportion of the loss occurring within the first 5 minutes after aerosolisation. in low RH (relative humidity) section: In summary, two efflorescence events resulted in a >90% decrease in percentage infectivity in just 2 minutes, lower than in any measurement in which the RH was maintained at a constant value.
  24. It’s only a lab simulation study but it shows importance of PPE as airborne virus loses 90% effectiveness to infect in first five minutes. also needs to be peer reviewed.
  25. Probably the Tory chief whip, Mark Spencer. They know they will be better off hanging all the dirty baggage on Johnson before the next election.
