So many people are odd. He is clearly better than League One, and even if people think not, then he would certainly be good enough for League One, and better than most of the other 'talent' we'll see in league one next season. He is still young and will no doubt improve too. We might well have an ideal midfield 4 currently of Morgan, Hammond, Puncheon and Lallana, but are we going to play each one of those 4 in every single game? Even if Drew was 5th choice, he could play in 3 out of 4 of those positions, and so possibly end up playing 25/30 games during a season, what with injuries, suspensions, form, international games (!) etc. So hardly a player we don't need because we have a settled 4 (not that it is settled just yet anyway). Plus those who say about looking back and not wanting him, he is a Saints fan through and through, and only left because he had no choice. The amount of people who harp on about loyalty, and I'm sure he would offer it to us, if the club potentially meet his expectations - which lets face it, we all hope it does! i.e. Premier League Anyway, its the Mail, so probably a load of rubbish.
