  1. Would be madness to let him go unless we're replacing him. Need more than one creative player in the side.
  2. Didn't he play against us for Vitesse a few seasons ago?
  3. Guy on twitter who claims to be Everton ITK, says Forster deal is "done" and they're still keen on VVD. Probably waiting for Lukaku deal to sort out...?
  4. Irrelevant tbf. Our f*ck up by not bringing in someone else in the window who can cover, and they wouldnt have expected Stephens to do as well as he has. No problem from me. Isgrove, no idea why we kept him for so long.
  5. "Look at me I know loads of stuff but not going to tell anyone....."
  6. How about 8/9th but playing some football which is good to sit and watch and actually makes you want to go to games?!
  7. He did a brilliant job, and until these "rumours" of him being a "nasty piece of work" are actually founded, I'll think about him in a very fond manner. Was one of the main reasons we are where we are, and his ruthlessness was welcomed. Nice being the arrogant ones for a change rather than just bending over for all the other clubs bigger than us constantly.
  8. Christ if he managed us I wouldn't go to St Marys until he's gone. Absolutely no chance of us bringing someone like that in. And although he says he's retiring, I'm pretty sure that if a club comes in for him next Nov/Dec who is in the sh!t he'll take the money!
  9. Wouldn't say its down to bad crosses, we don't have any strikers/midfielders who are good in the air, and generally we're crossing in to 1/2 players in the box.
  10. A fair assumption if a bit generous regarding Caceres! Redmond I think has been an excellent signing, bearing in mind he didn't cost that much, and has got himself into the England squad. The rest...meh. Boufal & Hojbjerg huge potential, they have the basic talent to become excellent, and hopefully we'll see the best out of them next season. Both not made an impact yet though. Do feel the attacking players do summer under Pied though as we're so deep the majority of the time. Hopefully the new manager can push us up the pitch 20/30 yards and we can be a bit more dangerous in the final third.
  11. Was one of my favourite players growing up, should have played for England for me. Class act.
  12. Sunderland still apparently keen on Gallagher. Apparently we will want a decent amount of money for him if he goes.... I'd get him tied down to a new contract if it was me.....
  13. Forster Cedric Yoshida Caceres Bertrand Clasie Romeu Hojbjerg Redmond Gabbiadini Boufal
  14. Tbf, none of them are great in the air.
  15. In isolation, I wouldn't be unhappy if we got rid of Long, J-Rod and Austin, brought Gallagher into the first team fold with Gabbiadini - and bring in one other decent striker. Not sure it's great getting rid of 3 strikers though all at once.
  16. Forster Cedric Stephens Yoshida Bertrand Romeu JWP Redmond Davis Boufal Gabbiadini
  17. Just because people expected us to finish 10-14th doesn't mean the fans are happy with it...! Difficult one, but it's been more about the style and system which breeds negativity rather than the league position. And we could still finish 16th I think too....
  18. Indeed - there was quite a lot of panic around, seemed to take an age to get any stewards/medics up there too.
  19. Difficult to try and rate Gibson. Boro play in such a defensive manner, he could well be found out elsewhere (Not that I'm saying we shouldn't be looking at him but probably will be overpriced - £25 has been mentioned!)
  20. How do you know they didn't?
  21. It was a bargain which pretty much all saints fans said at the time, £38.5m is not that much these days, for someone who can win games on his own.
  22. Interesting discussion - just think we need to allow Hojbjerg to develop alongside Romeu, although he has to learn that he can't give the ball away in key areas once or twice a game. Not sure the answer is the three of Redmond/Boufal/Tadic as I put back in February...leaves us too exposed.
  23. Not sure how well informed Graeme Bailey is, but seems to get quite a bit right... Would be ok with McQueen as first choice, but certainly not ideal - Bertrand is another level above McQueen. However if it means we can use the money to invest in other areas then it would be ok. Guess it depends on the clubs ambition. If we're just happy staying up then it would be fine, if we want to push on and be a regular in Europe then he's probably not good enough.
