Hmm not fussed by him.....hopefully not.

-----------------Forster------------------ Cedric - Stephens - Yoshida - Bertrand -----------Romeu-----Davis-------------- JWP-------------Tadic-----------Redmond ---------------Gabbiadini----------------- Might take Boufal out my FF team as thought he'd be a starter this season and may well be, but probably not on Saturday. COYS! Will be nice to be back, and have a bit of a day out on the beers!

Could it be linked with a potential agreement over VVD going to Everton? Can't see us bothering otherwise - especially not at £30m + and £100k pw +
-
The Gabonese Jake Livermore then?
-
Cant disagree with the above, it's a bit of a shambles really. Cant see Gazza going to Spurs but would be an odd one to be made up by the press!
-
Reads like an article saying, the club can't do anything else it's in our best interests to let him go
-
Cant see Liverpool selling Mane for less than what they paid for him, when he has so much potential and time to improve. Never going to happen.
-
He's a decent player, and actually had some very good games last season. Time for him to "push on" along with all the others that you can same the same about....(JWP, Redmond, Hojbjerg)
-
Got the same feeling, I think there is a lot of expectation on him because he had such a stop start season last year. Games will help him, but think this manager will get way more out of him than Puel. Cedric to be one of the best RB's in the league, but us to leak a few goals while we score a few more. No doubt we'll still have a couple of result at hoome where we have about 70% of the ball, hammer the oppo for 80 mins, then get suckerpunched at the end 0-1...!
-
Be silly to not keep an eye out for other youngsters too though, we did it with Slattery, Olomola, Tella, Stephens, Gallagher from memory ?
-
This - no brainer IMO.

The Squad - position by position
Saint Garrett replied to SaintJackoInHurworth's topic in The Saints
Completely agree - which makes it a pretty odd decision to bring in Bednarek unless we think he's going to be brilliant (also ignores Gardos!) Would have been logical to bring in a first choice CB and have Yoshida and Stephens as backup. Think the bolds count towards the squad so think we have room for 1 more player over 21. Forster McCarthy Cedric VVD Yoshida Stephens Bertrand Targett Romeu Hojbjerg Davis JWP Redmond Boufal Tadic Gabbiadini Austin Long Taylor Gazzaniga McQueen Bednarek Clasie Sims Hesketh Gallagher -

The 2017-18 Pundits pre-season League Prediction Thread
Saint Garrett replied to doddisalegend's topic in The Saints
So actually - his prediction is. 1. Man City 2. Chelsea 3/4. Man Utd 3/4. Spurs 5/6. Liverpool 5/6. Everton 7. Arsenal 8/9/10. Leicester 8/9/10. West Ham 8/9/10. West Brom 11. Stoke 12/13/14. Bournemouth 12/13/14. Crystal Palace 12/13/14. Swansea 15/16/17/18/19/20. Brighton 15/16/17/18/19/20. Burnley 15/16/17/18/19/20. Huddersfield 15/16/17/18/19/20. Newcastle 15/16/17/18/19/20. Southampton 15/16/17/18/19/20. Watford -
This Especially when we've been so vocal about it. £75m up front hopefully.

Reed will get pelters and rightly so if we sell to Liverpool - now it's time for us to step up and win the faith of the fans back with a few big signings.
-
Rather play players in their proper positions where possible. Something along these lines especially at home vs a team who comes and sticks 11 behind the ball. Options to play Clasie alongside Romeu, JWP or Davis further forward, Austin to replace Gabbi. -------Romeu JWP Redmond Boufal Tadic --------Gabbiadini
-
Will judge it come September 1st. Agree with others it seems slightly worrying though. There aren't even any decent rumours it seems. Still could do with a top CM alongside Romeu and arguably a no 10 and another wide man. Perhaps Pellegrino sees Clasie / JWP / Davis good enough in those positions? Bednarek does seem an odd one when we already had Stephens / Yoshida to be "backups". Just seems to be squad filler to me - another Gardos.

Pretty sure AC Milan are on a bit of a spending spree at the moment....!

Let him go to Italy or Spain somewhere, just not to the f8cking bindippers

You can sign 2 but have to release 4 - Who goes?
Saint Garrett replied to Sidney Fudpucker the 3rd's topic in The Saints
I was always indifferent, heart wanted him to stay as you can appreciate how good he was under Poch, but head says it was time to cut ties with him and him to get a fresh start. -
Fair point - but Liverpool is a step up from Saints, whereas Varane is already at Real Madrid.
-
Not sure why Varane would want to go to Liverpool tbh, he can and should be aiming higher.

Our half-witted fans don't know how lucky they are
Saint Garrett replied to mcbendy's topic in The Saints
Completely agree with the OP. We're not going to sign a Chris Smalling, or a Sigurdsson, or an Arnautovic etc, it's just not how the club works. (Which I am absolutely fine with). The only one I can think of that sits in a similar bracket is Austin, but given his contract situation at QPR, he was available on the cheap. Obviously the frustrating thing is that we never get to see the best of these players, as as soon as they get to a decent level, they're off, which is why we always seem to have this issue of keeping players for one more year. I'm quite happy with us being a sustainable model, play decent attractive football and cause a few upsets throughout the season, hoping that our close knit under rated team play above their level as they're all wanting the next step in their careers. Much rather that than, signing the aged expensive players who won't have a very big impact on our season. -

He can't stay fit, and probably quite expensive. I wouldn't be against him gone. I think we want to cling onto him, because our front line isn't great.
