He clearly must have more talent than your average non-league player. The thing that is puzzling me is how this deal has been done now. I always understood the transfer window applied to all professional clubs. I don't really know what level Easteigh are at (Southern League?) but I'm surprised that a transfer is allowed at the moment.

Good to see him getting amongst the goals (even if against FGR Reserves). It will do his confidence good. Just because he is curretly not first choice, it is very likely that if he performs in the reserves that he wil earn a chance again in the future, and we may be glad of him if Ricky gets suspended or injured (of course I hope that doesn't happen but we need to be realistic about players availability for 50 games a season)

There used to be a rule that no team could loan more than 2 players from another team. Unless that rule has changed I would treat the story in the Sun with the contempt it deserves. With Poke and Thomson already with the Gulls I don't see how Matt could go there as well. Other than the pictures, and updates on some nomark Soap stars I would be suspcious of anything written in that rag (or any of the other red tops for that matter). As far as I know no-one is cup-tied, I don't think any of our squad has played in the Qualifying rounds this season for any other team. Some of our loanees may not be allowed to play by their parent clubs, but that has nothing to do with being cup-tied per se. It may be of course that they want to avoid them being cup-tied in future rounds.
