Martin Hunter was in charge when we were relegated. If I recall Radhi was assistant but it's unfair to attach relegation to him directly. He had 2 reasonably successful seasons in the PL2 2nd division, with promotion last season.
-
To be fair, talent such as his is rarely seen in the English game.
-
Shots on target 4-2. That was a major difference. Gunn wouldn't have conceded 9 if there had only been 4 on target.
-
Why Fleming? His promotion to 1st team was based on relative success with the u18s last season. Davis and Watson on the other hand.
-
He's always immense, but usually useless.

Could today be the day when we get off the mark for this season's most points dropped from a leading position competition.

Would prefer Morgan.

He had an horrific injury record at the time and was I think released by Juve as a result, hence he was a free agent. We need some emergency cover, although in the end we didn't, and let him go, it was a shame but understandable, because he was/is a good player. He wasn't really a CB, quite diminutive, more often played on the right of a back 3. Hasn't played much since, which sort of justifies our decision not to take him permanently. Not many players can claim a 100% win rate in games played, and collect an EFL Cup runners up medal.

Skacel never played in England before his time in Scotland. I'm sure there are better examples.

Don't think we really have a play-maker to make it work.

Ralph's success prior to RB Leipzig were, with the exception of Ingolstadt, at lower league level. Rohl was already at RB when Ralph was appointed and the success during their two seasons was quite astonishing, far exceeding what Ralph had achieved beforehand. Not that he was bad before but success at RB was a different level. Not saying it was all down to Rohl, but clearly Ralph forged a good working relationship with Rohl and they clearly gelled.

Decent article about saints and our troubles

Don't think you should readtoo much into the title of his appointment. He was hardly going to replace Kovac and Kovac, or Herr Flick. He has gone their to bolster the existing coaching squad. I bet he's not actually just sat around analysing the player stats. -
Following him on Twitter its pretty obvious he is looking for a new challenge, best part of 6 months since he left Hull. Personally would prefer him to work with Ralph rather than the u23s.

He went off injured in his final game. Don't think anyone has said he came back with an injury. Don't think anyone has confirmed he is back or what the hell has happened to him. Usual lack of information from the present day club.

Billy Sharp is nearing the end of his career, nearly 34. He has been good for Sheff Utd in the Champ, but now is more of a talisman now that they are in the PL, he comes on as sub, lifts the crowd and the team and does his bit to help. Sadly for him the PL came too late, his fitness is not up to it due largely to his age. That said, I'd still have him at Saints in preference to most of our largely **** strikers. -
Maybe it's based on the evidence of watching the play that the coaching is meant to influence. Last season things seemed reasonably OK. The players looked fit, and were reasonably well organised. This season they don't. What has changed? Fundamentally one thing, Rohl has left and gone to Bayern Munich. Note, not to some 2nd rate club, but arguably one of the 2 or 3 clubs, in terms of coaching, in the world. Reports have also come out supposedly from the players, that Rohl is much missed (not sentimental, but practically). Maybe **** Kitzbichler will eventually help, but there is no evidence yet, it takes a while for a new guy to be ome influential. As for Davis and Watson, they reapply don't inspire confidence. Kelvin is just a nice bloke who was never really that good as a keeper and seems to have been promoted from his original role without any real signs of expertise, it seems like he is there because the Club management want him to be (jobs for the boys). Watson demonstrated clearly how not to coach goalkeepers but now he seems to be asked to Coa h outfield, especially set pieces, and the outcome is we aren't very good at them either. I hoped Craig Fleming might bring more to the 1st team, but he still appears to be treated as a junior partner. Not sure about our new GK Coach yet, may be too soon to judge but he came highly regarded.

Is he back from his loan? No one seems to know. His season has finished in MLS, but his loan was until December, which sort of leaves him in limbo. He's registered in the PL squad so that's not an obstacle. No way I'm suggesting he is the answer to our prayers but would be interesting to know for sure if he is an option now.
-
He has been replaced, **** Kitzbichler. Doesn't seem to be having any effect.
-
Why? We are much better away from home. 1-3, 1-4 and 0-9 our last 3 at home.
-
To be fair, Stephens has always been the most likely of our "centre backs" to score.
-
You're missing the point though. The point is that as some thought Rohl was key in coaching, Ralph put his trust in him, Ralph is not really a hands on coach, and clearly has no idea how to set us up defensively. The fitness is also lacking. Rohl wasn't taken on by Bayern for nothing, they recognised his skills. Ralph now has to make do with Watson and Davis, and maybe Fleming. The new guy doesn't seem to be effective at all, yet its very noticeable that he is always alongside Ralph during games. The problem we have now is we have a manager who cannot Coach (effectively). Unless he can build a new partnership like he had with Rohl he is not going to be effective. Its not like this is a new phenomenon, it's like having Hoddle without Gorman, Burley without Snodin or even Mr Jam Roly Poly without Jordan

Why would it be amazing if Kat bought the club back? So she could fu k it over again? -
Sydenham please, not Tom, he was almost as frustrating as some of our modern day players.

Does nayone actually know what the situation is with Sims? I know his loan was supposed to be to the end of the year, but given RBNY have actually finished their season how does that work, he has no matches to play. He was named in the PL squad, so is eligible, but is he back or not? Not for one minute saying he is the answer to all our prayers but it would be good to know if he could actually be selected to play.
