No recognised strikers on the pitch. Defending a 1-0 lead? Unusual.

Tamworth beating Carlisle. If it stays like that, that's a big cupset, Carlisle are doing well this season. Anyways, I'm off back to work. :-(
-
Jaidi could be our top scorer this season if he knew how to take his chances. Had a couple of headers last week vs Peterboro, a run and header against Brighton on Tuesday, and another chance today already. He's no Fonte when it comes to goalscoring.
-
It's ok, we've got Kayne McLaggon and Jake Thomson as back ups. Oh, bugger.
-
Gutting for Holmes, he's made a good couple of sub appearances and this game was his chance to shine. He'd be a fixture in our side, if he didn't spend so much time in the treatment room.
-
1-0 already, 4-0 predicted by me. Don't take the urine Saints, 4 is plenty.

Is this your excuse for all the white patches on your jeans?

Based on what I saw, Brighton won't win the league. I don't doubt they'll be in the promotion chase, but as for winning the league, I'd be suprised if they were still up top come May.
-
I know he's not coming back, but I'd still give my left testicle (the droopy one) to re-sign Antonio. (The fact that we won't get him mean my bollock is safe, but it's a price worth paying to see him back here.) Stupid Reading.

I wouldn't be suprised if it is: Davis: Got to keep a core of regulars. Butterfield: Giving him some game time and Frazer a rest Fonte: Same reason as Davis. Martin: Gives Jaidi a break, three games in 7 days is tough for him, poss. Seaborne if he's fit. Dickson: Or Harding if he's fit. Chamberlain: For creativity purposes, he'll tear Cheltenham a new butthole. Gobern: Faith in the youngsters? It's him or Guly. Hammond: As per Davis. Holmes: He's looked good in the last couple of sub appearances, his dead balls are better than anyone elses, and it gives Adam a break. Lambert: Until he scores ffs, this could be the game he needs to find the net. Connolly: If fit, but I'd like to see Doble given a start if he's as promising as people say. Poss. Guly though, playing behind Lambert. Big dilemmas for Adkins, a strong team could cost us with injuries or suspensions, a weak team could cost us an FA Cup run and a growing lack of confidence.

He's a good player but there are many good strikers out there, we ideally need to do what we did last season and sign the best striker (or one of the best strikers) in League One, making us stronger and other teams weaker. To that end, I would still love to see Jordan Rhodes here. Huddersfield would doubtful let him leave, but every player has their price, and he would be perfect to give Lambert a much needed rest. On the odd occassion I've seen him, he looks like a very good young player, knows where the goal is and is every bit as good at heading as Lambert. At 20, he's a fantastic age too. Worth breaking the bank over for the future, IMO. I don't doubt Adkins knows attack is our priority for a signing, January will be an interesting month, as long as someone is brought in, I'm happy.

Over the two games, I'd say Jaidi was one of our best players. Nobody beats him to a header, his run into the Brighton penalty area on Tuesday would've been worth the admission fee alone if he'd headed it in. Brighton fans think he's shyte but he still managed to run the length of the field without being challenged. Lambert is off goalscoring form, and that's how he's judged, but he still works his butt off. He could've had 4 goals or more in the two games, had he been in the same form as last season. Attack is still our weak link though.
-
He's far from crap but I wouldn't sign him, there are better options out there. He's not a striker and is just filling in. He'll be in central midfielder on Saturday I reckon if Chaplow isn't fit.

Sat in Lime Street car park heating up my hands. Great atmosphere, shocking reffing. Brighton timewasting was unbelievable. Great save by Kelvin for the penalty, so it feels like a point gained. Thought Lambert worked hard, unlucky not to score with a header. Roll on May, we can still win this league, Brighton were average imo.

I'm a puff. I only had my Saints shirt on on Saturday, and was ******* freezing, at half time, I put my coat back on, along with my gloves, scarf and hat. Those Northern monkeys can catch hypothermia if they like, I personally am a creature of comforts.

I believe both had played before, in the victory vs Coventry (?, I may be mistaken), but it does deserve special mention. I remember Berkovic's crackers on MOTD that day, and thinking Ostenstadt was a brilliant goal poacher, and thinking we would do well that season. I was listening to it on Solent whilst on holiday in my parent's caravan, and the whole thing was rocking with every goal we scored. My first ever live Saints game was that following January in the FA Cup 3rd round, when we lost 3-1 to Reading and had Slater and Benali sent off, and Souness stormed onto the pitch afterwards.

He used his right foot to cross on one occasion. We may have a ready made replacement for Punch. His set pieces were top notch too.

The one in the green top will be ok once she gives birth to her octuplets.
-
The favourites to win the league will beat the usurpers to our position. Just. 1-0 Saints. Looking forward to it.
-
The penalty that won Colchester their game was terrible. We could've used them drawing that too. Big brown envelope for that ref.
-
I'm very warm, if someone in the Chapel fancies a hug.
-
Looked more like Robbie Savage tbf. It'd make a tough spot the ball competition.
-
Oh I'll be singing - it'll keep me warm because I predict it'll be flaming freezing on Tuesday night!!! SAINT NO STOPPING US NOW......
-
I couldn't get a ticket for the Kingsland, so I'm sat with the lovely people in the Chapel for this game. Meh, saved six quid.

We always get some weird votes in these things.
