If we don't go up, then 1st to win JPT back to Back??
SNSUN replied to ponto1963's topic in The Saints
I read that another team has won 4-1 before in this final, but we equalled the biggest winning margin. I don't think we'll be looking to be knocked out next season, but I do think we'll be concentrating on it less. A chance to give the squad players a run out, similar to this season (although we were somewhat forced with cuptied players...) -
Personnel actions to ensure promotion next season

Morgan/Lallana/Lambert/Fonte and Harding. Anyone enquiring about them over the summer should be tracked down and shot. Signing Antonio and Waigo is a must IMO. -
Mexican waves are a bit naff, but it was a fun day out for us all and, what the hell, it's not like we have to put up with them every other week at SMS. A one off is ok, and I actually enjoyed participating. (I enjoyed booing the Carlisle fans more tbh.)

I was impressed by the sheer size of the place but little more than that. I snuck in past the security that were searching others. I could've had petrol in my water bottle, and I certainly had a lighter on me if I'd wanted to cause trouble. :-) Not that I would...

I think RobM means consistency DURING games. Antonio is the type of player that can fade in and out of games. I forget which one I was watching, I think it was Exeter on Boxing Day, but he was superb at times and anonymous at other times. A quality player already, he has the potential to be even better. Oh and Stevo, it must've been hard for you to admit that, but you've finally seen what the rest of us had seen this season...

I just watched the highlights on iPlayer, as I fell asleep last night, and I must say I thought it was poorly edited. They whizzed through the first half, and mainly showed the 30 minutes after we'd scored our fourth goal. Maybe it was just me. I also thought Claridge was really struggling to say many good things about us. Just me again?

I was driving into Wembley. Had to be up at 3am for work, so couldn't drink anyway. :-( Still, great day all round.

On top of the Saints fans hiding away in the Carlisle end? That's amazing. We rock. Pompey in the Semi Final at Wembley - we'll see who the GFITW are.

3 votes for Chris Perry. Sentimental ones I'm assuming?
-
My favourite current Saints player. Such a good football brain, good defending and going forward, and he's now proved how versatile he is. If we had a massive centre back shortage, height aside I feel he can read the game as well as Perry, and would have no qualms about putting him there.

Who were the Saints fans in the limousines, I saw 3 limos on the A40 with Saints regalia. Lucky a holes.
-
Ooh, that reminded me to have a whinge. Segregation my arse. I was in 524, and all that space up top that was empty could easily have been segregated. I don't know about the concourses, but there was easily room for more Saints fans if you ask me.

All these. It was also the first time I haven't bought a Saints programme. (I plain forgot).
-
Balls, I may be up at 3am for work tomorrow, but I'm going to stay awake for the BBC2 highlights.

The lino put his flag across his chest, whether that means it was for handball I haven't a clue. Any linos out there?
-
My current favourite Saints player. Why the **** Leeds let him go, I'll never know.
-
Smack the kid and vote for Harding! I want him to get all the recognition I feel he deserves.

Saints 4-1 Carlisle - 2010 JPT Champions - Reaction
SNSUN replied to Block 5's topic in Golden Posts
Oh, driving up the M40 towards Wembley today, I got stuck behind one of the Carlisle coaches. So much swearing, middle fingers and ****** signs. I apologise for my behaviour. :-D (Actually it was them being very uncouth. Hope they enjoyed their long ride home...) -
Davis: 7. One or two good saves, largely had nothing to do though. Kicking was iffy. Harding: 9. My MOTM, though it is so hard to choose. Harding has a good footballing brain, and kept the right side quiet all game. All this on the wrong side of defence. Fonte: 9. Immense. A man mountain, nothing got past him. Also mops up in other positions when they're out of position. I probably biasedly just shaded Harding as MOTM than Fonte. Jaidi: 8. Again, unbeatable in the air. Looks a tad flustered when it's on the deck but still very good performance. Mills: 8. Started nervously but in the second half he really came into form. Antonio: 8. He IS quality, although at times he looks a bit lazy. Perhaps our best outlet today. Only caught his goal out of the corner of my eye as I was fixated on the Saints support. I'd watch the highlights but I'm up at 3am for work tomorrow. Wotton: 5. Was very poor IMO, tackles went astray, passing went astray. Normally does the simple things ok, but this was not his day. We missed Morgan IMO. Hammond: 7. Was seemingly doing the work of two people in midfield, crisp passing and a good work rate today. Lallana: 8. He's our dangerman IMO, some clever touches, and he and Lambert have a real understanding of where each other is going to be. Some nice one twos, and a well taken goal, though should have scored at least twice more. Lambert: 8. He was, simply, Ricky Lambert. I didn't doubt him for a second when he stepped up for that penalty. Waigo: 7. I wasn't suprised he got a goal, but his touches weren't coming off today. Doesn't work as hard as Barnard, but has got quality in his locker, it's a case of trying to get him to use it. I noticed he was milking it when he came off. Subs: Perry - glad to see him given an appearance at Wembley, especially as Fonte has kept him out the JPT team, but unrated. Gillett - 7 Actually did well coming on, had a shot which ended up going for a corner, perhaps Pards should have started him instead of Wotton, but we'll never know. Connolly - 6 Hardly had a touch. Pardew - 9 Did what he could with the players he had available.

Not too regular! Auto spot next season hopefully, not play-offs. -
Already got my tickets. Anyone know if they'll be parading the trophy?
-
He was very very good at times. My girlfriend's favourite player, and she's a Canary. Sign him up. And Waigo.

I trod in horse shyte. Effing steeds. -
I heard no boos in block 524, we just booed when Carlisle buggered up the Mexican wave.
