  1. Absolutely nothing wrong in being happy about another teams misfortune, either on or off the field - look at the hours of fun that has been had on the Pompey thread. So, no reason why we should not be happy that Huddersfield are not as strong as they might be. Making light of a serious injury sustained by a player is something else entirely.
  2. One man does not a team make. Therefore I would not be too quick to rule out Huddersfield, as somebody else said - this sort of thing can galvanise teams (DIFM anyone...???). Complacency is a dangerous game to play at this stage of the season. As for the lad who got injured - wish him a speedy and total recovery and a long career ahead hopefully.
  3. Fine here Baj - no problems at all, service was good all night - thanks.
  4. Saints 2 Liverpool 1 - great to see Deano make up for his error by getting on the end of MLT's free kick - typical determination, top player. Good vids.
  5. Ummm right - the DM version was ok, but I think I can leave it after that - thanks.
  6. The simple fact of the matter is, as the OP says, it doesn't matter how now - but it's time to deliver. If we are going to do it, it's now or never (well not quite never, but I doubt we will have a better chance for a while). Blow it this season and I can see us being here for a while to come.
  7. I am well aware that both Leeds and Norwich are doing fantastically well in the Championship, but if you take a look at the League 1 table / form, you might find that we are doing less well and the likelyhood of even being in the Championship next season is deminishing fast. Arrogance for assuming that we will be promoted and premature because we have soooo much work to do to get there. Personally I hope your aspirations come true - but right now there are other teams on the South Coast who are showing less arrogance but are much better placed to host this thread on their boards.
  8. This bit worries me - we talk the talk, hype is meaningless, meanwhile the two 'lesser' south coast teams in this league continue to walk the walk...
  9. You don't need to be at the match to comment on the stats, the table, the figures - the bank manager is not at the deal as the broker makes the money. We could of played like Brazil, Barca, Chelsea, Man Utd - it wouldn't matter a jot because the stats say we got no points, from what was a winnable deal for us. Ergo the punters, whether paying or not, are highly ****ed off.
  10. I agree, don't think we would stand an earthly in a play-off position....
  11. And for those still wondering, that was the difference between Saints and Brighton. At the business end of the season with the pressure on they go away and grind out a 1 nil win while we grind out a 1 nil loss. I thought I might have to reappraise my pre-season prediction that we would spend a few seasons in League 1 yet - after tonight I'm beginning to feel confident again. Going to be an interesting finish now.
  12. Time for some serious wrist slitting now I guess...
  13. Win, win, win, win, win, win, win, win, win, win, win, win, win, win, win, win, win, win, win, win should see us nicely through to second place - simple philosophy for a simple game.
  14. Errr it was Defoe, and even I would have been embarrassed to claim this one - but thats strikers I guess...! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JnHpg5Wz_Xk
  15. Didn't he also score an absolute screamer in said game from about errr 6 inches as well - or is my mind playing up again....???
  16. Without wishing to put a damper on procedings this thread could be construed as a little arrogant and somewhat premature.
  17. Great player, good bloke, always totally committed. RIP Deano.
  18. Indeed they are - that is why our games in hand are so important - we have to win them.
  19. Now comes the acid test.....
  20. Dag and Red - yayyyyy

Is any of that actually relevant? From what I gather (from people who were at the game) the pitch was not that bad, professional sportsmen playing in the rain - um, really struggling to find that as any kind of excuse, and as for the distance from home, hardly like they flew half way around the world and are suffering from jet lag is it. Personally I think that perhaps MLK could have achieved if not the same, perhaps even a better result. I have little doubt that NA is working hard to put things right - but let's not point to irrelevances such as pitch, weather and distance as reasons for non achievement.
  23. No way would I want to lambast you, but Brighton are currently 10 points ahead of us, we never managed to make up the -10 points last season, therefore it is highly unlikely that we are now going to do it over the course of the last quarter. If you are a betting man, I would advise you to keep your money in your pocket as opposed to going on your hunch - you will lose.
  24. Exactly, without doubt, no matter which way you dress it up, tonight was an opportunity missed. Question is now, how many more opportunities will we get?
  25. Whatever they have got I would like some of it, they are winning this league by a country mile - well done to them.
