  1. What is with this place today? People asking who we'd prefer to win out of Saints or Pompey, and now this.
  2. I think they paid him off back in the summer, he's been a free agent till now.
  3. Yeah, same. Wanyama will be this years Clyne I reckon, and Mane will be this years Morgan.
  4. Bilic has done well this month, he's another option.
  5. I wonder if the 'release' of Gaston will give us a bit of leeway in what we can offer him. Maybe that's what we've been trying to sort.
  6. Palace are obviously desperate for a striker, it just makes you wonder why they didn't go for Austin. I can't imagine Adebayor will be cheap wage wise either, and he hasn't played for about 6 months? Sounds like a little bit of a desperate signing to me.
  7. He had a really positive impact when he went to QPR a few seasons ago. He can make a difference, certainly an upgrade on Obertan - but it's just a little too expensive for me.
  8. I'd be tempted to give it to Long, the first proper run he's had in our team and he has been crucial in our results over the last 4 weeks. Good to see him finally nail a spot.
  9. But didn't we say the same thing for most of last season? ''He's not had a save to make, he's not been tested, we don't know how good he is'' Well, maybe we do.
  10. I love the fact that RK has got one over on LVG, again. But seriously, what is LVG all about? I do enjoy seeing Man Utd struggle, but how has he mismanaged that squad so badly and failed to address so many glaring issues? Why does he constantly convert wingers into wing backs, and play wing backs at CB's? Apparently the odds on Mourinho have been slashed, they really do need something with a bit of charisma to get them moving again.
  11. Tadic was fine, played the number 10 role well in the first half. Played a terrific ball into Mane as well and generally linked things, tired a bit in the 2nd half though as he was constantly on the move. Good shift.

    David Watson

    He really wasn't that bad.

Think he has the same role for England too. Seems to be more of a First Team Coach.
  14. We've probably played better in games and lost them this year (WHU first half for e.g) but we still did enough to win today in my opinion. Our tactical shape is excellent at the moment, we always look as if we have more players than the opposition when defending and we seem to be able to get back into shape very quickly. Teams haven't quite worked out how to counter our new system as yet (in terms of breaking it down). Great start for Charlie - people will say it was a free header, which in effect it was, but just watch his movement and the way he just moves...and then knows when to hold - right on the spot. He just knows where to be, that's been the case all of his career. With the amount of chances Mane and Long miss, give them to Austin and we'd be a lot better off! I think our 10 day break has come at a good time - nursing a few knocks and it'll be good to get everyone back fresh for a tricky game at the Emirates. First double of the season in the offing?
  15. Yeah, wasn't decent quality. It was amateur level stuff, but fun to watch.
  16. Defensively a mess, but exciting to watch! Got a feeling that this game kills Norwich.
  17. I don't think I've ever seen Moreno defend.
  18. Jay had a massive set back, he was getting close and then got an infection in the knee - that just reset the entire process pretty much. Now he's got a foot problem, which is more than likely due to stresses he hasn't had for over a year.
  19. Watford is a brave call Trousers! They have turned a bit rubbish, but I think they've got too many points on the board already. They probably only need another 2 wins and a few draws. I think Norwich will go, ditto Villa....third spot for me will be between Bournemouth and Sunderland.
  20. Papa was awesome, he wasn't up to much ability wise, but was a good laugh at L1 level. He was always offside..!!
  21. I wouldn't say Matt's career ever did get back on track to be honest. Yeah, he still played, but at a much, much lower level than he was at prior to his injury. There are lots of former Saints out there, they're littered all over the football league to be honest. Lee Holmes never did quite become Robben though!
  22. I'm guessing that's why you get basic wage, and then add ons for apperances, goals etc. So I would imagine the total sum of Gaston's contract, including all the clauses, would have been a meaty amount - but his basic wage without any clauses was probably modest.
  23. TBF I think I remember even K,Billy gave us the thumbs up on the Clyne thing. Sounds like whatever happened there was a very quick turn around.
  24. I pay more attention to what my dog says, and he doesn't speak.
  25. Also can't understand why they said they'll stick with Alan Curtis for the rest of the season, yet have just appointed a new head coach to work alongside him. (quite clearly the new guy is the new manager). http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/35339215 I've always admired Swansea, I see them in the same way as ourselves in trying to do things, but they've dropped some uncharacteristic clangers this season.
