  1. Happy to have Theo back on a cheap loan deal, he won't have to do much to contribute more than the players who are being replaced if he gets a handful of goals and assists then it will have been a decent bit of business. He's still quick and hopefully will be keen to show what he can do to earn a contract next season.
  2. Dia never cost us a penny other than maybe a couple of quid in wages and Osvaldo actually looked like a quality footballer until he went mental. Carillo was known garbage when we got him (Look at that goal scoring record in Argentina!) cost us a record transfer fee and clearly is on wages that make him un-affordable to the sort of clubs who actually want him. He is clearly our worst signing by a country mile if you take into account ability, impact and cost. The others people have mentioned in this thread at least had the possibility of being decent (Lemmina, Boufal etc) Carrillo was obviously garbage!
  3. He hasn't proven himself in the championship he had one decent short spell with Swansea, Adams had three seasons in the Championship and still hasn't managed to make the step up. David Prutton played 25 times for England at under 21 level again this is no guarantee of success! 20 million for me represents a massive gamble he is a good prospect and nothing more his career to date is very reminiscent of the two lads that Bournemouth got bent over for, I'd take him on loan with an option to buy which would at least give him a chance to earn a 20 million price tag!
  4. I wouldn't touch Brewster for that sort of money, he is hardly proven at this (or any other) level and is just as likely to turn out to be a flop as the next Owen, Jordan Ibe and Dominic Solanke spring to mind!
  5. Because we need a FTA and will almost certainly at the last minute agree to the original EU proposal much like we did with the withdrawal agreement which despite all the posturing was essentially the original deal we were offered. Boris and his cronies will put some lipstick on the pig and trumpet it as the greatest FTA in history then a few months later quietly leak out the agreement over fishing and level playing field much like the boarder down the Irish sea that we were never going to have... We are playing a game of poker with the EU unfortunately the only cards we hold are the joker and the one with the bridge scores on while hey hold the rest and both sides cards are face up on the table our posturing is embarrassing and our eventual capitulation will be predictably humiliating welcome to the green and shiny uplands of Brexit!
  6. He's been a brilliant signing and I'd be happy for him to see out the rest of his career with us, fingers crossed the official announcement of this come soon.
  7. That is indeed the ScottBevan who was on our books but never quite good enough 40 years old now!
  8. Nobody is giving in, in that scenario both clubs are compromising spurs paying more than they want and us accepting less than we want. The deal gets done and both clubs can move on with out wasting half the summer arguing until the same thing happens the day the window closes. the football transfer market is just so childish it is insane.
  9. It's such a boring game the two clubs should just come to a reasonable compromise If spurs want to pa 15 and we want 25 split the difference at 20 and move on it's not worth all the noise.
  10. Berkovic was 5'7 and Belmadi 5'9 so neither it would seem are in the top 10 under 5'7
  11. We should just loan/sell him to Celtic and subsidise his wages best for both the player and the club get as much of the cost off our books as possible and chalk it up to experience. It's a shame as initially for us he looked really good, was playing for England and probably earned his contract extension even if his form had started to tail off at that point.
  12. Solid player and a decent bloke by all accounts, I wish him all the best for the future and hope the club offer him the chance to attend ag ame when we have fans back in the ground so he can get the appreciation he richly deserves. Never a world beater but consistent and reliable the perfect squad player who always did a job.
  13. Not a great window for me but not awful either at least we haven't smashed our transfer record for an obviously crap player this year, would have liked to see us strengthen more but that is always the case. Those leaving are good but not outstanding players at the end of there contracts so it makes sense will miss Yoshida just because he was a part of our early success when we returned to the prem and not many of those players are left! Fingers crossed we will have some more budget available in the summer when better players are also available.
  14. 18 months left on his contract so his value is already falling and will take a big hit in the summer so I can see the temptation with maybe Wanyama returning on loan to fill the void. Not the business I would like to be doing and Id much rather see PEH sign a new contract but that seems unlikely so we will have to cash in the chips at some point,
  15. I still think there is something about him, he looked decent when he first arrived and is still only 21 which is pretty young for a CB.
  16. It is especially when there are other contradictory stories out there that disagree. Lets face it we will never know the number for either the KWP loan or the Soares one but I think it is safe to say we won't be out of pocket otherwise it would make no sense at all!
  17. a good servant of the club who has done well for us without ever being outstanding, he has always done a job never moaned and I don't think he has let us down all to often. I can totally see the logic in the club cashing in at this point we are almost safe we have got a young prospect in the position and have got cover in on loan so we are getting money for a player who would have walked for free in a few months. I wish him well for the rest of his career where ever it takes him and would happily buy him a pint, he's not a club legend but then not all players can be!
  18. That was simply party political campaigning under the guise of an information campaign and it got Boris exactly what he wanted so you have to say well played to him, doesn't make it a good use of public money min.
  19. or maybe someone told him to pull his finger out or we would sell him to Bolton, either way it looks like we have the player who many of us thought he could be when he first cam into the team so long may it continue.
  20. He'll come back to Saints, I'm not sure on the eligibility rules for reserve/youth games but wouldn't be surprised if he can play in them given you can field trialists etc
  21. I think that's a bit harsh on the lad, he was a good servant of the club who had outgrown the team and wanted to test himself at a higher level his departure didn't feel hugely money motivated unlike say Lovren, when he left us he was a French International and most of us thought United had got themselves one of the best DM's in the league. Sadly for what ever reason it hasn't worked out for him, Man Utd was always going to be a big ask and it seems his confidence has taken a battering. I'd have him back at Saints in a heart beat.
  22. He turned out to be alright after that though so hardly in the same lesgue as a Patric Colletter!
  23. Nigel Clough is an amazing manager at Burton Albion, he should just enjoy the rest of his career him and the club seem made for each other, that and he seems to have a knack in cup football!
  24. I'm still not convinced by this must buy clause, it seems odd and very unusual but then nothing would surprise me with Saints! I guess the risk was if he cam here and had a good season he's suddenly a 40-50m player with todays prices so maybe liverpool wanted that factored in if it was an option to buy. Lets be honest 20m is nothing in the premier league these days!
