Every cloud has a sliver lining....

In approx 20 mins, Bradley Wright-Phillips will no longer be a Southampton player.

Cheers Bradley, you've been one of the worst players I've ever seen in the red and white and I go back a long way. I know we're in the **** but if we only had 2 players left and one was you, I'd still want you to **** off. One tip for you... try and learn the offside rule over the summer, I know you've been trying for 3 years but stick at it... maybe it's your attitude...

A bit of pace but no vision, awareness, strength, brain, heading, ability to hold it up, ability to go past people and take the ball with you.

Good ****ing riddance

I'm not the greatest BWP fan but I think he does get some over the top and unfair criticism. I think he'd actually do a good job for us in L1 and I'm not really rejoicing that yet another player is about to leave that will need replacing, with someone who is probably half the player.

Could you really come out with a worse half ??

Anyways, i am dissapointed DMG left, will be devastated if Surman left, BWP should have gone long ago, he offers nothing.

I did not attend a single game all last season for one single reason.

BWP !!!

Good riddance to bad rubbish,he never even had the balls to admit to his mistakes.

What?! He was actually our best player against Plymouth at St Marys. What about the 50% of matches which he wasnt used in?! I think if he'd have played up front all season he would've got 10-15 goals, I rate him more than McGoaldrought anyway.

I can't see him doing any better in L1 than the CCC for 3 reasons.

1. They still have the offside rule in L1.

2. They still have goalkeepers in L1, so finishing a 1 on 1 is just as difficult.

3. They still have gravity in L1, so falling over for no apparent reason is just as likely.

I really hope both he and Euell leave now they're out of contract. Useless the pair of them.

Who gives a **** if he could do a job in League One or not?

He cost the best part of £1m and was on (apparently) about £8k a week. He should have done a job in the Championship.

It's not his fault he's crap but... he is **** and can **** off.

Reading v Saints last season - he scored 2 and was easily MOTM. The Reading fans rated him, shame some of our oiks didn't. Talk about a prophet not being honored in his own country.

A season is 46 games, not one. And he had three seasons to prove himself. At best he had 6 good games & God knows how many shockers in that time. Time to call it quits, I'd say

Seriously? It takes a lot to stand out as completely retarded on this site but that's as good an effort as I've seen today.

After supporting Saints home and away since 1971 he was the straw that broke the camels back for me.

Regards being retarded I am not but my younger brother has been since birth and used to enjoy seeing saints play,he was invited to the dressing room the season after we won the cup to meet the players.

Its not nice to call posters retarded !

Why do I have this nagging fear that no-one else is going to offer him a contract and he will be back, signing on for another three years of headless-chickenry. I won't sleep easily till some ****ock like Warnock or Sturrock has helped him sign on the dotted line

That was the only good game the bloke ever had for the club one of the reasons we are in the **** now. Although knowing ex-saints players he will probably score 15+ goals in Championship last year

LMAO!

+1

The only game i saw him do well was against Barnsley away, 2-2.

Seen 10's of bad performances since that. Good riddance.

He cost Saints nothing, was he not won by a female fan ?

Total myth. The Coca Cola money was £250,000. We topped that up to approx £800,000 to buy him from Man City.

So, we paid approx £550k for him and have paid him £8k a week for 3 years. Total outlay approx £1.7 million for a striker who in addition to not being able to play football (see original post), was also shiit off the pitch as well.

We can all remember the odd good game he had but if anyone played that amount of games over 3 years they'd have the odd good one. The classic shiit footballer getting paid a fortune...

What I'll miss is on 1 on 1s with the keeper. I never even got excited or crept off my seat when he was clean through because you just ****ing knew it was going anywhere but the goal....

I hope he stays...

likewise. I have backed him as I did Fuller and Kenny J. People go on about Saga being messed about and that explained his dips in form but look how Bwp was treated last season. If he had played up front all season we would have stayed up IMO. His pace and running down the channels were badly missed as an out ball. His finishing is poor at times as is his decision making and his long range shooting, but he causes oponents problrems and turns teams round. We played far too much stuff in front of defences because we didn't have an outlet that someone like BWP offers.

Well BWP played up front all season the season before last (40 league appearances), and we came within 20 minutes of getting relegated. And that was only thanks to goals from John and er... Vignal.

He showed some decent promise when he first came here, but he just hasn't progressed at all since then. To say, "his finishing is poor at times," is like saying, "Hitler, bit of a knob sometimes".

I know you can manipulate stats to show almost anything but; in his first season here 15% of his shots resulted in a goal. Last season it was 11%. His composure in front of goal is getting worse if anything.

Top post!

BTW, I'm tired of hearing it said of our poor players from the Championship (BWP, Euell etc) that 'they will do a job for us in League 1'. If they were any good we would not in League 1! And let's not kid ourselves - League 1 is a battleground and it will not be an easy League to get out of it. Ask Leeds Utd.
