Foxstone Posted 17 July, 2009 Share Posted 17 July, 2009 A dignified, measured and professional purchase of the club, an ability to make clear and timely decisions and the ability to attract a potentially excellent new manager. Not yet 3 weeks into the post and already I have seen greater competence at board level than at any time in the last 10 years ! I personally would like to congratulate and thank ML for restoring my confidence and pride in my football club - It has been many years since I have felt this positive about the club. Would be interested in other peoples early impressions of ML and his team..

sussexsaint Posted 17 July, 2009 Share Posted 17 July, 2009 A very weak appointment as manager who IMHO will not put bums on seats! Maybe he is the best we could expect BUT... no ..not a good start! Holy carp some people! 2 weeks ago we had no owners and were up S8it creek with no sign of a paddle now we have a billionaire owner who immediately sorted KD contract that evening - sacked wotte and appointed a manager proven at this level for a club that is already in the relegation zone of Div3!! We have yet to see what signings he makes but how anyones expectations can be that we would have appointed a premiership manager and made premiership player signings are beyond belief I think the new order have conducted themselves swiftly and professionaly and in the long term will be the best thing to happen to the club for many decades, the recovery will not happen overnight or even in 1 season

Maybe he is the best we could expect BUT... no ..not a good start! attracting a manager to the third tier, on minus 10, who 3 years ago was minutes away from cup victory, took team to play off final in league 1 next year promoted form league 1 next year getting to CCC play off final, next year play off final next year victory in play off and promotion to premiership, next year cup final Mixed time at Reading. Running Man Posted 17 July, 2009 Share Posted 17 July, 2009 A breath of fresh air as far as I can see. They look very well organised and efficient. The buyout went through very quickly and without any hitches. The Season Ticket pricing and implementation was well organised. Being able to go to SMS on the first day of sale and walk away with an ST after only 20 minutes was brilliant. I think Pardew is about the best combination of experience and a hungry winner with something to prove, that we could have hoped for. I'm assuming Andy Oldknow is responsible for much of the above so well done mate and keep up the good work.
