stevegrant Posted 6 October, 2009 Share Posted 6 October, 2009 Morning all Just had an e-mail from the club stating that the Sponsors Training Session will take place on Thursday 22nd October. This will include watching first-team training, refreshments and meeting your player (either Simon Gillett or Graeme Murty) at Staplewood. A full itinerary will be sent nearer the event. This has come a bit earlier than I was expecting, so we will be conducting the draw at some point in the next week. The prize list currently stands at: 2 pairs of tickets to the end-of-season dinner 2 pairs of tickets to the sponsors training session 2 signed player shirts 1 Saints shirt signed by the Soccer Saturday panel 1 copy of Taking Le Tiss Winners will be drawn in order of the prizes - the first two winners will get the end-of-season dinner tickets, the next two the training session tickets, etc, but we will draw four further names in case the original winners are unable to attend the training session. e.g. Winners 1 and 2 get the end-of-season dinner tickets - sorted. Winners 3 and 4 get the training session, but winner 4 cannot make it. Winner 5 would have had one of the shirts, but instead moves up to winner 4. etc When the draw has been completed, the results will obviously be posted on here, and you will be contacted with full details of how to claim your prize if you have won one. RESULTS And the winners are.... 1 pair of tickets to the end-of-season awards dinner (Graeme Murty sponsorship) - SaintBletch 1 pair of tickets to the end-of-season awards dinner (Simon Gillett sponsorship) - positivepete 1 pair of tickets to the sponsors' training session on 22nd October (Graeme Murty sponsorship) - Block 5 1 pair of tickets to the sponsors' training session on 22nd October (Simon Gillett sponsorship) - zigsdad 1 player's shirt (Graeme Murty sponsorship) - Martyg1950 1 player's shirt (Simon Gillett sponsorship) - dubai_phil 1 Saints shirt signed by Sky Sports pundit team - Polaroid Saint 1 copy of Taking Le Tiss - JonnyLove Congratulations to those who were lucky enough to win - commiserations to everyone else For those who will be going to the training ground on the 22nd, I will pass on the full itinerary when I know it - in the meantime, please contact me with the names of the two people who will be attending, the club need these names for the gate at Staplewood. Genk Posted 6 October, 2009 Share Posted 6 October, 2009 I didn't realise unti reading the programme on Saturday that Saintsweb.co.uk sponsored Gillett. That's excellent. How much did it cost you altogether?
stevegrant Posted 6 October, 2009 Author Share Posted 6 October, 2009 We also sponsor Graeme Murty. Altogether, it came to £1400 (£700 each)

once_bitterne Posted 6 October, 2009 Share Posted 6 October, 2009 We also sponsor Graeme Murty. Altogether, it came to £1400 (£700 each) Given the lack of appearances Murty and Gillet will be getting they could have at least thrown in a free Pulis as part of the deal! Johnny Bognor Posted 6 October, 2009 Share Posted 6 October, 2009 Does this still apply? Each contributor will be entered into the draw on a one-pound, one-entry basis, i.e. for every £1 contributed towards the fund, that contributor gets one draw entry, up to a maximum of 50 entries. Therefore, the more you contribute, the more chance you have of winning one of the prizes. I see Mr Nineteen Canteen was on the original list so would it be wrong of me to opt him out of the draw for 1 copy of Taking Le Tiss. I think he has already got a copy and he wasn't overly fussed on it.

Johnny, hopefully we'll be allowed to donate the prize to a worthy cause even if it means it remains the last prize to go from the 'raffle table' competing with a box of orange matchmakers and a selection of pretentious CD's as we read about on the Arts thread. Perhaps it's not such an Evile (sic) and infected nation.

stevegrant Posted 13 October, 2009 Author Share Posted 13 October, 2009 I'm assuming this training session will now consist of a day trip to Doncaster, stopping at the General on the way? Well Murty's back in training, I believe, and he'll definitely be there. Gillett obviously won't be there, but the "meet and greet" session takes place in one area with all sponsors and the players, so the winners will be able to have a chat with other players as well. Ah ha so THAT makes things VERY different.. Yep a NEW fight can start. Do we let a negative or a happy clappy win? Could they harm/enhance team morale? As the winner is representing the forum shouldn't we have a poll to see what two key questions they should get answers to from as many players as possible? suewhistle Posted 13 October, 2009 Share Posted 13 October, 2009 There's too much unaccounted for cash sloshing around in Dubai, or maybe number of posts, so I reckon it's a fix. ;-) Still, if you can't find the wall space I can always do with new shirts for footie training: at my time of life I can get very sweaty! Thanks to Steve grant, BTW.

Thanks to Steve grant, BTW. Jeez, what a weird 24 hours. Watched Goldfinger last night... Then today we get 3 calls in for our new biz and like we're swamped already. Then I win the shirt Then get raided by Dubai Police.... Looking for the evil genius mastermind behind a major Gold Heist from a Jewellers in Dubai - FFS I said it was last night and it was Fort Knox... Anyway I let em in, we had a couple of beers, talked about football (they never heard of Al whotsit at Sk8tes either...) But oh we DID share a giggle about Sultan Bin Trump.. Funny they'd heard that nickname as well! Anyway, turns out it's a Sri Lankan Maid Mafia thing, our maid knew a maid who knew a maid who got nicked for stealing a 20 quid necklace and they were trying to track down her boss who it seems may send more than one maid out to do this.. All good fun. All I need now is an airfreight shipment of Valium to calm down.... And why is it that 2 minutes after they leave his brother turns up trying to sell me carpets? He didn't understand the joke when I said I didn't want carpets but did he have any football clubs for sale...? Phew. Need beer... zigsdad Posted 22 October, 2009 Share Posted 22 October, 2009 Just on the train on the way back to London after a great morning at Staplewood. I'll post a proper report later on, but just want to give everyone a taste of what the day was like. Arrived in time to watch 1st team training: speed & agility exercises first, then split into defence and strikers for specialized training sessions, all with a definate plan in mind for countering MK Dons. Then inside the 'dome' and into the players lounge for sandwiches before the players & Alan Pardew came in and mingled. Good long chat with Graeme Murty, whose rehab is going well, plus managed to get a shirt signed by 20+ Saints players. All in all a fantastic experience & made sure to mention Saints Web lots! Still feels quite surreal being picked! A big thanks to the Mods for making this happen. More later (including pictures), Jon.
