"unbelievable support, 9000 for the cup game during the week its been incredible and to be honest some of the stuff we delivered has been awful, especially at the start of the season but they really stayed with us and have been absolutely terrific"

He doesn'realise that we put up with so much poor stuff last season that this year's awful was last season's norm.

He made some comments about Lambert as well, which explained why he is getting better.

To sum up, when he arrived, he was out of shape, not fit, eating too many takeaways, wrong diet, etc.

Now starting to reap the benefits and believes he can play at a higher level - compared to dean ashton.

Extremely interesting.

He must have got away with murder at Bristol Rovers, now he is adjusting to not being the big fish in a small pond.

Thanks for that.Would like to see the rest of that interview though as I didn't like the way he was putting Lallana out there. I think I know what he was getting at but when managers talk about players like that, especially with the slip he made when mentioning him, I can't help but feel its like putting him out on an advertisment board.

I just think it is great we have a guy in the club who not only tells it like it is but understands where we have come from and where we want to go.

With the Lallana thing with people criticising him for what he said i think people need to remember if it was not for Pardew we would have lost him in the summer. He talked players like Adam and Morgan into staying. We know they are better then League One quality, it is obvious they will be gone sooner then later. But his point is that it is now on our terms, we don't have to sell simply to balance the books anymore which he highlighted with those players who have left since we dropped out of prem league. After re-couping £40m in just 4-5 years we still went into admin.

As he mentioned those players will eventually go for large fees which will be used to bring in replacements. Where as before it would not be re-invested as much. I think that was a vital point he made.

I think in the summer we will probably lose Lallana and Morgan. But we will be in a position to replace them with other players of hopefully similar quality. Rather then hope one of the youngsters will emerge such as it had been for years.

I think it is more to do that we can relate / understand what he is on about after GB (Got ******ed) and the Double Dutch boys!

I'm not convinced we would of been able to understand what the Dutch clowns were talking about even if they spoke perfect English.

Well, after the Swindon away game, I had serious doubts about his tactical nous.

Since then, as he's moulded the team into his own, I can appreciate that he was severely limited with what he had to work with.

Same for me. That night I seriously worried about him but since then things have improved greatly. AP is such a refreshing change from the previous dross we've been dealt (Nigel Pearson excluded) in recent years.

Interesting to hear of Markus Leibherr's strong religious faith - if the master plan works out and we find ourselves back in the EPL some day ML will have to deal with the implications of employing players on weekly wages than could quite literally sustain 100's of poor people in the third world for a year or more .

In the light of basic Christian ideology he may find that a somewhat uncomfortable situation to be in .

That was his 3rd league game after being here for only a few weeks !

It just goes to prove that patience is needed for rebuilding and we still have a helluva long way to go! When I look back at those who were hypercritical after the first few games it makes me cringe, it really does !!

Anyway Oxo, I'm glad that you've seen the light !!

Now I am following the script......The big man up there saw we had become a hopeless case after being led by some naughty boyzzz...So he sent ML and NC as our saviours and to take us to the promised land......My prayers were not in vain....in The Dog and Duck.

COYRs.....Praise you ML.

I'm pretty sure all the clubs scouts already know about him...especially considering they were making offers last summer.

Let's show some genuine top of the table league form before we say how great we have become.

We have won 3 whole league games

In my defence we were very, very poor that night and a 1-0 loss flattered us. To go 80 minutes with 2 International strikers (admittedly ones who didn't want to be here) on the bench whilst Paterson looked lost against a bullying Swindon backline and Lambert devoid of all support, it warranted serious questions being raised as everyone could see what was going wrong, but nothing was being done about it.

One of the most frustrating games I've ever watched!

But like I said, he's won my support since then, so I'm happy to admit he's looking like he's building us into a decent outfit now and has made some inspired moves in the transfer market.

Onwards and upwards!

Someone please remind Pas Dieu that we've had 10,000 for a Reserves game at St Mary's. I believe under Strachan.

I was at that game I think it was Spurs at home....the £11m Rebrov played that night....or was on the pitch lets say. It took me until the second half to realise he was playing he was that awful.

6 goals in 12 games is doing that

You don't think he's spent his life in business paying people huge sums then? No company directors, senior managers? He doesn't spent large amounts on himself, on property, on a football club?

I'm sure he pays his staff a fair wage for the job , most highly successful businessmen do . Paying some greedy footballer an obscene wedge for (let's face it) very little work of real worth to humanity is quite another matter .

If Christ were to make his long overdue second coming do you think he'd approve of players taking home £50k -£150k a week when countless millions of the poor starve on a few Dollars a day ?

If Jesus would not approve then it follows that the faithful shouldn't either .

Do you think Jesus would approve of those who feel this way continuing to fund it?

Let's not be silly (said in the nicest possible way). He's a very successful businessman. Faith won't get in the way of earning money to a man like him, and if Saints are in the Premiership then he can earn some serious dosh.

If you were at Swindon you'd understand. The game, tactics, substitutions and over all play was cringeworthy, not the criticism AP received. However, that all seems to be in the past now :)

I think it's an interesting paradox how people with a strong Christian faith can square that belief with the implications of becoming extremely wealthy and indeed owning a (one day hopefully) Premier League Football Club .

I hasten to add that I'm not at all religious myself and I've no intention of preaching to anybody but the moral quandary is not without interest to me .

I think people with a strong Christian faith can square anything. They made up a person to believe in, it's not hard to justify his decisions as a result is it? ;)

Good video of Markus Liebherr on that clip. Here is another one:

Brilliant! Hope he doesn't turn psychotic like the Curious Orange did.

Also I believe the bible says something like it's harder for a rich man to get into heaven than something about threading something through the eye of a needle (can't be bothered to find the exact passage). So maybe ML will spend his fortune on Saints and get into heaven a poor man with Saints the the Champions League?

It's not so much what he earns but rather how he spends it that counts from a religious perspective I'd say .

But if he REALLY believed he would give most of it away.

And spend most of his (spare) time doing "good deeds".

Easy to say, this Christianity stuff, not so easy to do.

A camel through the eye of a needle.
