VectisSaint Posted 3 January, 2010 Share Posted 3 January, 2010 Looks like we will be the 3rd lowest ranked team in the draw (Notts Co and Brighton below us). Good chance we will be on TV if we get a Prem team, as they will be looking for an upset. Hope we get a proper Prem team at home (i.e. not Wigan or Hull). This is (and as you'll have seen, was) correct, and should we make it to the 5th Round we'll be number 1 in that because our tie was first out in the 4th Round draw. It's worked like that for at least 20 years - there was an article in either the 1986 or 1988 FA Cup Final programme explaining the process. The first round draw is alphabetical by team name, second round is based on 1st round draw order, third round is alphabetical and then from then on it's based on the order all the way through because no further teams are added. This is another one of those things I'd assume all football fans would know but apparently hardly anyone does.

Whitey Grandad Posted 4 January, 2010 Share Posted 4 January, 2010 Is the Chapel open for this game? I think it probably would be. I received this in an email from David Luker, I hope he won't mind being quoted: Should we progress to the 4th round and face a home tie of note, then it is likely that all areas would be open as you would expect. Actually, it was only numbers 1-44 for the prem and CCC sides that were in alphabetical order for the 3rd round. 45-64 were based on the order of the 2nd round draw.
