dubai_phil Posted 13 April, 2010 Share Posted 13 April, 2010 Once upon a time.... Watching the PL on TV they used to say "Saints have not won a game after conceding first for 997 years" or close to it.... and today we conced first and win 1-5 When was the last time we had 3 games that we scored 5 goals in? Fan The Flames Posted 13 April, 2010 Share Posted 13 April, 2010 Over the season we are the second highest scorers, second best defence, second best goal difference and lost the second least amount. But too many ****in draws.
The Kraken Posted 13 April, 2010 Share Posted 13 April, 2010 By my maths, since October (after we had taken 9 points from 10 games) we have taken 64 points from 31 games; that's 2.065 points per game. Norwich are currently top with 86 points from 42 games; that's 2.048 points per game. So we've been in title winning form since turning our terrible early season form around. Can't really ask any more than that.

beatlesaint Posted 13 April, 2010 Share Posted 13 April, 2010 Win the game in hand, add those 10 points back on and we aren't that far behind Charlton or Norwich for anyone out there within the club who may have commented recently on our being well of the pace of those two teams !! There is every reason unless you belief our team will be weaker.

Yes, but Huddersfield also have good form. Still not sure they will drop enough points for us to sneak into the play-offs.

I agree. If we had won every game we played we would be getting promoted, but we haven't and for that I blame AP. I'm sure Alpine would agree with me when I call for him to be sacked right now. Every team will have results like that though, it happens. Burnley 1- 0 man utd 0, Tranemere 3 - 1 Norwich etc... The fact is that if we now add our 10pts back on, we would be within 4 pts of 2nd (1 pt off if we win our game in hand) that tells me that we've not done much wrong at all. Unfortunately the points deduction and the disjointed start left us in a position where we could barley have a slip up in the 2nd half of the season - which in the big picture, was always unlikely. If we started with this team on even footing, i wouldn't bet against us getting 90+ points
