tartanowl Posted 20 September, 2010 Share Posted 20 September, 2010 What do you think will it be? Who are the players we should look out for? I think there will be big changes for us on Saturday. 3 losses on the trot and Irvine is starting to feel the pressure. We need a result and I am certain we will be going for it this weekend. Nexstar Posted 20 September, 2010 Share Posted 20 September, 2010 Will be interesting to see what, if any, changes Adkins makes after his first full week of training. Puncheon was replaced on Saturday with Holmes who did well and Dickson also impressed. 17 year old Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is one to watch, been our most consistent player over the past few games and has blistering pace down the right wing. I think we'll be likely to see: Davis Butterfield Fonte Seaborne Harding AOC Schneiderlin Hammond Holmes Lambert Barnard
Turkish Posted 20 September, 2010 Share Posted 20 September, 2010 I think we might see Holmes come in for Puncheon who really has been poor this season, Adkins seemed pleased with him when he came on. Maybe Dickson in for Harding for the same reasons. If Martin is fit he'll probably come in for Seabourne at centre back. It'll be interesting saturday as both sides need a result, although to be honest, just a goal would do at the moment.

BGF Posted 20 September, 2010 Share Posted 20 September, 2010 I think that Adkins is trying all the players to see what they are like whilst playing a real game, not what they are like in training, so I wouldnt be surprised to see him change Davis at some time. It was Davis who stopped us from losing on saturday, Adkins said as much in his post match interview, you dont drop a keeper after they have saved you a point and kept a clean sheet. corky morris Posted 20 September, 2010 Share Posted 20 September, 2010 You'd play Wotton ahead of Hammond? I would Rich. I would play him deep & let Morgan roam a bit. I think we need a change & some of them a kick up the back side. As for Kelv, I think he has had a poor season & just because he kept a clean sheet in his last game does not make up for the 6 plus goals he conceded in his previous games. MarkSFC Posted 20 September, 2010 Share Posted 20 September, 2010 Two changes from the starting XI v Colch hopefully. Holmes for puncheon and with any luck a loanee CM for Hammond. Ideally a loanee striker for the bench too as all 3 strikers are not 100% for different reasons!! An early goal for you, or a poor start from us and the fans will be on Irvine's back. Some of the morons in our support obviously can't figure out where the problems in our club are coming from. for_heaven's_Saint Posted 20 September, 2010 Share Posted 20 September, 2010 Adkins is used to geting the best out of average players from his time at Scunny, therefore I'm hoping that with a bit of work he can get Hammond back to his best and back to actually playing an important role in the team. I think he needs to work on his fitness to start with.

Saints foreva Posted 20 September, 2010 Share Posted 20 September, 2010 Hopefully Martin is back from injury or Jaidi is in the back four. I never feel confident about getting a win when Seaborne is in the team, Mooney beat him to several headers on Saturday and he tends to lump it up the pitch a lot. West End Saint Posted 20 September, 2010 Share Posted 20 September, 2010 It will be an interesting game Tartan 2 sides low on cinfidence and badly needing a win I think we need it more than you and we were a little better saturday could be 1 of those games were 1st goal wins it. I hope you do come all out for the win god knows we have struggled when we have to make all the play and break teams down Lallana is a massive miss for us and several of our players are still way off the pace have you got anybody out that you will miss ? I hope Holmes plays instead of Punch and anybody plays instead of Hammond but we are short of options in centre midfield. I always thought the games between us would be tight and important but I thought we would both be at the top fighting for the championship how wrong was I ? tartanowl Posted 20 September, 2010 Author Share Posted 20 September, 2010 It's hard to call our lineup. I think it will be something like... GK Nicky Weaver RB Lewis Buxton CB Darren Purse CB Mark Beevers LB Tommy Spurr RM Chris Sedgwick CM Tommy Miller CM Giles Coke LM Gary Teale ST Neil Mellor ST Marcus Tudgay Darren Potter or James O'Connor could also start in the centre of midfield. Daniel Jones could be picked left midfield, or ahead of Spurr at left back. Right midfield without Jermaine Johnson is becoming a bit of a problem for us. Chris Sedgwick is not looking too comfortable. We've tried Miller and Coke there in recent games too, and it's a possibility Tudgay could even go there. Its anyones guess what Irvine will do on Saturday. Up front it will be two of Neil Mellor, Marcus Tudgay, Clinton Morrison and Paul Heffernan. SuperMikey Posted 20 September, 2010 Share Posted 20 September, 2010 I think you'll get the 3 points on Saturday somehow, I don't think we'll seriously start picking up points until Rickie is completely match fit and Lallana is somewhat involved in the side, or we get in a similar type player for a few months to cover for him. forever a red and white Posted 21 September, 2010 Share Posted 21 September, 2010 We can;t see what happens at training, but it would be nice to see Do Prado given a start rather than being brought onto to try and rescue a game. Holmes looked lively and finally a corner beat the first man. Give Barnard a go up front he has good movement but it will only work with hard working wingers, thats what u get with punch and holmes, they both track back well and get the ball in the box.
