the saint in winchester Posted 27 September, 2010 Share Posted 27 September, 2010 So, according to that link, he doesn't want to come to us. He wants to go to Swindon. Fine by us - we don't need him if he doesn't want to be with us.

del boy Posted 27 September, 2010 Share Posted 27 September, 2010 So, according to that link, he doesn't want to come to us. It doesn't say that, it just says he's "apparently" very keen to rejoin Danny Wilson's Swindon Its easy to read too much into these reports, especially when they rely on terms like "apparently" etc. Lets just see how it goes? Ken Tone Posted 27 September, 2010 Share Posted 27 September, 2010 Or maybe he doesn't want to play him at all? Quite. IF this is a rumour with some truth in it, then the only logical expanation would be that Richardson is some time away from fitness still and Butterfield isn't considered quite up to scratch. IMO he is ok, but nothing special. I'd assumed he was a stopgap until the hopefully better Richardson is fit. Minmd you since Pardew seemed determined to get into the guinness book fo records for number of left backs, maybe Adkins is merely trying to balance the side! K. Ivan Katalinic's 'tache Posted 27 September, 2010 Share Posted 27 September, 2010 If he's better than what we've got, then a good decision. I imagine that Richardson will take a while before reaching full fitness, so having some competition for Butterfield for a couple of months might be worthwhile. Richardson getting injured in pre-season means that, although he could be back in full training some time in October, it'll probably take him until at least November before he approaches match fitness. S-Clarke Posted 27 September, 2010 Share Posted 27 September, 2010 tbh i've not been convinced by butters, solid enough but way too slow when being attacked. This guy can play at LB or RB iirc, so good cover - but not exactly in a position we need, i thought the wide areas would be priority.
westmidlandsaint Posted 27 September, 2010 Share Posted 27 September, 2010 interesting because my business unit manager at work is a liverpool fan lives in cheshire (west midlands mon-thurs) and he told me the other day that Saints were looking at a Liverpool reserve player by the name of Victor Palsson (sp) i asked him about him as i know he follows all the reserve and youth games and he said .............. he's part portuguese, attacking midfielder who is thought of quite highly, skillful, quite quick and hard working thinks it would be a really good signing for us.
