rocknrollman no2 Posted 2 October, 2010 Share Posted 2 October, 2010 Sorry if this has been mentioned already, but did anyone see the trouble in the Northam concourse after the game? My missis went down five minutes early and said a load of Bournemouth fans came through the red door by the partition.Apparantly a female steward was hurt.Hope shes ok. The Bournemouth fans were the worse fans that have been to SMS for a long time. After seeing how they were today,i hope Bournemouth get relegated at the end of this season. Saints Warrior Posted 2 October, 2010 Share Posted 2 October, 2010 It wasnt much. As I came out the Northam a load of Saints went to run at the Boscombe druggies but then couldnt be bothered as it was only 3 of them and they ran back to the coaches. Most fans just laughed at then on way station. god they dont half smell, it was just like seing the Skates again. Half of them couldnt read the road signs to find way to station. The police need to hand some soap out the the tramps so the station will be clean for monday.
ossie1 Posted 2 October, 2010 Share Posted 2 October, 2010 cant condone that trouble but perhaps you would like to explain your meatheads having a go at our chairman in his box...yes our chairman with very young kids present. Tractor_Saint Posted 2 October, 2010 Share Posted 2 October, 2010 cant condone that trouble but perhaps you would like to explain your meatheads having a go at our chairman in his box...yes our chairman with very young kids present. Huh? I didn't bring my two young kids to today's game because of my low expectations of the bompey supporters. You're telling me the Bompey chairman bought young kids with him to a game where he knew he'd get abuse for his lies and non-payment of bills? Maybe he's madder than I first thought. I'm not saying it's acceptable for it to happen especially with children present, but was it necessary for him to do a 'going down' gesture? The man represents your club and should rise above it all and act professional no matter what is going on. In my opinion he showed a real lack of class. MarkSFC Posted 2 October, 2010 Share Posted 2 October, 2010 and you dont care about us?? no we don't. We do care when another clubs chairman talks bs and attempts to undermine our club. To us this was just a.n.other game on the way to the Championship. To you it was your cup final style day out at the best stadium in the league. Anyone who fights at football (or anywhere else for that matter ) is unwelcome and whatever side they are on should be banned for life. If it's true that one of our stewards has been hurt by a Bournemouth fan then I hope the club is able to convict them appropriately. Roll on next season for "our" derby. He should have known he'd have got this reaction so he's just as irresponsible for goading us in front of young children. saintscottofthenortham Posted 2 October, 2010 Share Posted 2 October, 2010 I felt sorry for them to start with. Purely down to their desperation of wanting to be our rivals. I was convinced by a few bawnmuff fans that these were just a minority and that they knew we wernt rivals blah blah blah. But to turn up at SMS today, being branded "Scum" and getting abuse before I have even set foot in the ground, then to get in the ground and to hear "If you hate Southampton clap your hands" and to see coins being thrown at near on every other (to be brutally honest, probably more than every other) Bawnmuff fan giving it the football factory arms out and pointing outside, throat slit gestures, and about every threat you could possibly gesture, all of this to a bunch of saints fans who literally done nothing but laugh at them. They really were a laughing stock today, bit one that I have gone from liking and looking out for, to a club that I wish no success whatsoever. I hope they get relegated and continue to suffer financially. Get what they deserve. It was in no way a minority, FAR from it.

And your first sentence smacks of so much hypocrisy it's laughable; 'probably some lacky on work experience'? Why, if that was the case, would that make his testimony any less believable than if it was somebody with years and years of experience? In this case the steward I spoke to was of the latter type. So, I do have knowledge, did see something, so I would argue that my POV is far form crap but pretty credible. It wasn't right that those kids had to go through that, and I in NO WAY condone what happened, but your chairman had to be expecting that kind of reaction after his conduct over the past few weeks? And yes, we care about you. About as much as every other team in this division, we need to win the vast majority of our games if we want promotion, including against you. You managed to draw extra supporters against us by hyping up your chances, goading people with your talk of being favourites against us because you're above us in the league, and maybe if you'd gotten a result against us it might have been the beginning of something, but you didn't. Your players froze in the 'derby' atmosphere, your crowd was quiet, we beat you comfortably, and our crowd settled into singing songs about how much we hate Pompey, same as we sang the week before, same as we'll sing next week. We won't be singing any songs about Bournemouth any time soon.
