Dr Who? Posted 5 February, 2011 Share Posted 5 February, 2011 I really do think we are going to go on another good run in our next 7 games I think that we will win 6 and draw 1. I also think this will see us planted in the top 2, but still behind Brighton who cannot seen to have a bad run. I also think that it will be Huddersfield and Bouremounth right behind us, with us to play Bouremouth away next in the game in 8 games time! It is going to go right to the wire, but just need to keep in touch with the top 2 and that is what we are doing! What do you lot think? S-Clarke Posted 5 February, 2011 Share Posted 5 February, 2011 There will be a few frustrating results within that block, but we'll win our fair few I'm sure. Dr Who? Posted 5 February, 2011 Author Share Posted 5 February, 2011 The run of 3 or 4 fixtures after that block do not look so good on paper. Of course I am looking at the games on paper/screen, but we should win those games, but not Bouremouth, Brighton and Charlton away, so it is very important we have a good run of results before going into the last games of the season. We really are on the run in now!
Saint Luke Posted 5 February, 2011 Share Posted 5 February, 2011 Doomed, doomed, we're all doomed. Personally I think your scenario is possible, but there are many on here who will say that the club is cr*p and that Adkins should be sacked and a Cortese is a useless moron etc. They think we shoul dwin every game 4-0 no matter who we are playing. Of course we could also lose 6 out of 7 as well. I am sure that i will get blasted for this by those people and for saying that. Can't win eh? Dr Who? Posted 5 February, 2011 Author Share Posted 5 February, 2011 Here is what i know about the teams on paper/screen. Saturday, 12 February 2011 Npower League One Southampton v Carlisle, 15:00 W The are poor away only winning 3 of 11 games, and they are on a terrible run. 4-1 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Saturday, 19 February 2011 Npower League One Rochdale v Southampton, 15:00 W They have won 4 of 12 at home, and are a bit patchy, but this could be a draw, but think we will scrape it. 1-3 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Tuesday, 22 February 2011 Npower League One Hartlepool v Southampton, 19:45 W Won 5 of 12 at home and until today they were on a terrible run, will depend on their next few games. 0-2 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Saturday, 26 February 2011 Npower League One Southampton v Swindon, 15:00 W Time to break the hold they have over us, we will take them apart, they are rubbish, and going down. 4-0 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Tuesday, 1 March 2011 Npower League One Walsall v Southampton, 19:45 W Walsall are on a good run in the last few games, but I feel this will not last, and by the time we play them we will just about beat them, they do seem like they have a lot of fight at the moment. 1-3 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Saturday, 5 March 2011 Npower League One Colchester v Southampton, 15:00 D Going to be a tough game and we cannot seem to beat this team, they have a great home record, and should just about get a draw. 1-1 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Tuesday, 8 March 2011 Npower League One Southampton v Yeovil, 19:45 W Yeovil will not beat us on our patch but think they will run us close to a Notts County time of game. 1-

WATERSIDEIFASAINT Posted 6 February, 2011 Share Posted 6 February, 2011 I think we will win at least 5 of those games out of 7 and anything less with that run of fixtures will be very poor.We should win all 3 of our home matches and if we can't win 2 from Walsall,Hartlepool and Rochdale away we won't be taking an automatic place.Colchester will be difficult but is winable. I actually fancy our chances in games 8 and 9 Bournemouth away and Sheff Wed at home.I just think we have the hoodoo over Bournemouth and their bubble will have burst by then
bender Posted 6 February, 2011 Share Posted 6 February, 2011 In fairness every game is winnable for us including yesterdays, Notts County at home and Tranmere away. A few questions about Adkins tactics and subs, perhaps. People willing to see the negative in everything Cortese does, definitiely. But never heard him called useless. People calling the club cr*p ? Never. We are all Saints fans. Never ceases to amaze me the lack of subtlety (or maturity) on here, where questioning something that has happened to the team means you hate everything SFC or are a WUM. Window Cleaner Posted 6 February, 2011 Share Posted 6 February, 2011 This. So worried about our next few games, especially if we concede 4 against a side like Peterborough. Posh score a lot of goals but we have just got to get our defensive set up right. We went gung ho yesterday which seemed to have worked but with at least 5 players with no defensive qualities whatsoever on the pitch we were always going to struggle if Posh got their act together. NA has to decide between Ox and Barnard or Ox and Guly because all 3 is a disaster waiting to happen.

Papa Shango Posted 6 February, 2011 Share Posted 6 February, 2011 We could win them all, but probably won't. You probably had Notts County and Tranmere down as Saints wins too. Five wins would be a good return. Can see us slipping up at Colchester, a **** of a side and a bit of a bogey team.

S-Clarke Posted 6 February, 2011 Share Posted 6 February, 2011 One massive plus we have in these up-coming games is the return of Lallana. We're a weaker team without him, so our chances of winning increase as soon as he's back in the team. He can be totally unplayable at this level. hutch Posted 7 February, 2011 Share Posted 7 February, 2011 In the cold light of day, IMO a point at Posh is not a bad result, playing without Lallana & Schneiderlin, arguably our 2 best players when not spending too much time in the treatment room. I've just had a quick look forward, and after the Carlisle game, the pessimists will have a tough month, with 4 out of 5 games away. But they are against Rochdale, Hartlepool, Walsall & Colchester. On-form Saints could well get 10 points out of that, but the pragmatist in me says we'll get around 7. I expect us to beat Carlisle and Swindon (at last!) at home. After that, we have 7 home games and 6 away. That's a better run-in. I genuinely believe Saints will get at least 86 points. That will be enough for automatic promotion, but whether it's enough to catch Brighton, time will tell. But it will be a fun run-in. After Brighton away we have the easiest run-in, with both Bristol Rovers and Walsall (both currently in the bottom 3) at home, and Hartlepool away. It's going to be good fun, and I'm looking forward to it, as long as Saints don't screw it up. I don't think we will.

Wade Garrett Posted 7 February, 2011 Share Posted 7 February, 2011 With Lallana in the side, I honestly think we could go unbeaten for the rest of the season. I also think we should stop chopping and changing the defence, and despite backing him to the hilt, I would drop Davis.
Saint_John Posted 7 February, 2011 Share Posted 7 February, 2011 There is a long way to go, this is a marathon not a sprint where there will be lots of ups and downs for all the sides. For example, Rotten Fruit's next 5 HOME games are against Udders (3rd), Sheff Wed, Oldham(6th), Us(4th) and Charlton(5th) . All sides with a chance of going up. Udders last 3 AWAY games of the season are Charlton (5th), Mk Dons (7th) and Brighton, again all sides with a chance of going up.

for_heaven's_Saint Posted 7 February, 2011 Share Posted 7 February, 2011 Though obviously it would be nice to go up as champions, I'm really not that bothered about catching Brighton if we can secure 2nd spot.
