Still cant believe they think West Ham are joint top favourits. They finished last FFS!! :(

Nice to see they have faith in Hollowheads Blackpool. LOL :D

Half of it's stereotyping and half basing the odds on the number of likely takers at this stage of proceedings.

Those odds are mental, Brighton have shorter odds than Leeds?

They cover spending power, QPR were always among the favourites before the season started based purely on the fact we had to power to go out and spend £20m, same applies to Saints. I think youll see a truer reflection once the window closes.

Presumably these odds (all odds) are as much a reflection of the money coming in than any 'objective' view of the outcome?

Saints (and West Ham) will be short money all the time people are betting on them.

Look at the price for England to win the World Cup (any World Cup!), I don't know exactly what it was but it was prob something like 10-1 or 12-1 during qualifying and something like 5-1, 6-1, 7-1 when the tournament started; 'realistically' it was probably somewhere north of 25-1 but no bookie could afford to offer those odds.

Don't expect to see Saints at a more realistic 10-1, 12-1, 16-1 to win the Championship any time soon.

PS Haven't opened the link so ignore me if I'm talking rubbish!

Someone has got on our BUS! ;)

Do you not stop to think, that there is a huge conflict of interest between sky sports and sky bet. I've said it before, they talk something up on shy sports, the mugs I mean punters, give their money to sky bet, on a long shot at short odds.

i bet they are a bigger force than you think mext season

I am not sure how they will do but at the moment it is looking very poor for them.

crap board

losing mentality

no money

no manager

crowd turning against players and board

stated they need to start clearing their £110m debt.

will be interested to see who they appoint

cant you come out with some sort of statistic to prove that the teams finishing bottom of the premier league with debts over £50m usually finish on average 14th in their first season in the championship, or something equally as interesting.

Can we just

1) Earn enough points in the first two or three weeks of the season to NOT have to worry about RELEGATION

2) Be in a position at the end of December where a couple of minor additions to the squad in January take us on another lunatic once in a lifetime run

3) Can we still PLEASE be humble enough to have Alps moaning, to have agreement about poor away games in midweek and to find a new source of Inspirational Nuns in Gas Masks

As long as THAT happens and we play good football, score goals and ENJOY ourselves, who gives a fook about the odds..

And you know what? I reckon if we do all that I will totally utterly be happy with 2nd place, sod the bookies

I don't know much about betting, but aren't the figures based on the amount of money bet with the bookmaker calculating the odds that will give him the best chance of making a profit? If so, the lower odds just reflect more money has been placed on those teams by punters. The table also excludes the playoff clubs at present, so two more teams, including the losing finalists of the promotion playoff have to come into the calculation soon.

To a certain extent but there is obviously an element of prediction too. You wouldn't open a book offering the same odds on everyone. If you went and put £1m on Norwich to win the Premier League next year they would still be longer odds than Man U.

crap board..sure they did not like grant but their record of getting it right and getting out of this league is very good...the crowd will be back on side when the hire a decent manager and they win a few...

as for debt..so did pompey but they won the FA Cup..

wet ham cant be that skint if they are about to hire sam allardyce in the NPC

I can't belive people are worried about our stint in the Championship. Sure, it's optimistic, but I honestly think we will tear this league apart. If we play at 100% every week, few teams will live with our style of football.

Thats probably the biggest understatement since Noah said it looks like rain.

guess who said that West Ham are worse financial position than any other club in the country? Their owner.

Their owner who has just announced they have been turned down by one manager, have now offered to another - but Sullivan is pessimistic and thinks he will reject them as well.

I bet if we were in this situation you would be less confident!
