NA has said that pre-season is about getting the entire squad in shape so that on the Friday before the Leeds game he has a full squad to choose from. He has also said pre-season is about trying out different ideas and different combinations. The squad are together all week and train together all week, they work together and know each other. Come the season proper we will be unlikely to field the same side two weeks running due to injuries, suspensions, etc. We are constantly told that football is now a squad game, there is no such thing as a first eleven.
