I know it's only the Star, but his progress is being tracked.

They're all being tracked, probably a bit less now that we're not very likey to get relegated.

We shoud have a big clubs chief scouts picture gallery on this board, then when you see them at SMS and elsewhere you'll

know someone is being "watched".

I'll start you off images?q=tbn:ANd9GcQ0jEg37PNdceBmgqejNMjbhriltGUDOquuS3Wd2D59PeYBi8rl3g

Seen at a fair few of our games this season apparently, saw him myself at the Everton home game

Speaking to a Swansea fan here, Liverpool are allegedly in for half of their first team as well! Just tells me they realise they have a serious rebuilding job to do in the Summer.

Thought Rodgers said he wouldn't take any Swansea players?

Liverpool don't need that much, they just need some key signings in some key areas IMO.

Brendon has over achieved this season and I think he knows it. Every time I have watched the pool this season they have looked very average.

Liverpool will be expected to challenging properly next year so I can see big movements up there with player turnaround. Just not sure Jay fits Liverpool. Ok, he may get more money, but I can't see him being a regular starter up there.

Other than Joe Allen I expect he meant then. On that subject a classic case of contracts meaning diddly squat, Allen signed until

2015 with Swansea last seasn but was off like a bolt of lightning when a "big club" and his ex-manager came calling. Football is a game where statements about loyalty and not doing something mean very little.

See I've been relatively impressed with them. Try to get the ball down, and have been ok. Not amazing but impressive all the same. I do think they need another CB, a keeper if Reina leaves, and maybe another midfielder, but all in all I think they have a decent squad. And they have some good talent coming through the academy and think Rodgers is the right man for the long term.

Yes true, but you still need a chairman that is ready to sell, and I think that´s not the case for us with Cortese unless offers are over the top.

Jay's incessant running at defences and his willingness to work back and defend since MP has given him his real chance will not have escaped notice. A really changed player of late, he likes to run at defences and he looks as if he's got a bit of a brain so MP's approach seems to suit him well.

Agree, we certainly seem to be playing more direct with him in the side that we were before. Whether this is down to Poche's tactics or not, I don't know, but he didn't really get involved that much under Adkins. He just seemed to run the channels and get the ball and knock it back to the midfielders, whereas now he's turning and running at defences. It's exciting to watch. I remember seeing one of his goals last year on the FLS, which was similar to the Liverpool goal where he ran the length of the pitch.

7 secs in....

Clearly got talent and comes across as a good fit with his personality as well.

JROD has massively improved under Tino - given a few more months working together and JROD could be ENGLANDs number 9 and worth £25m imho

Lets not get ahead of ourselves, he's only been playing consistently for a month or so. I would think he will have some poor periods of form, and also some 'hot' periods. What we do know is he will give 110% in every game he is involved in.

So another one of our awful summer signings is being linked with a move to one of the top 7 clubs, you know, the ones who we won't ever be able to compete with, because our players are not good enough.

Individuals being linked with a top seven club does not mean as a team that we will finish in the top seven over the course of a season. HTH

I thought I was being cautious with my £25m estimation? if Andy Carroll is worth £36m, then JROD is already worth £30m imho. With a bit more time working with Tino he could be £50m minimum?

He's clearly a confidence player, he had a good season last year scoring regularly, but a new team, new league and hefty price tag meant he got off to a slow start. It's taken him a little while to realise he can do the same sort of things in this league as he was in the championship. It means his thinking is a bit more clear now, earlier on in the season he looked a bit clueless, got the ball caught in his feet, taking too many touches etc. Now he's running at people and finishing first time.

He's got all the attributes to be a top striker, pace, height, strength and good finishing. Needs to improve his technique a bit but he's still young, but we shouldn't get carried away. He's only scored 5 league goals.

The cheap red tops have spent so much energy on promoting their favoured clubs they have trouble coping with any change in the established order. The hacks at the star probably have no idea about SFC's financial position or that the club has no need to sell its players and that it has them on long contracts. J Rod is playing in a team that is better than Liverpool and he has as much chance here of European football as he would have there.

To be fair they do, they just know if a large offer came for Rodriguez he would be interested, thats football, this is when Cortese will prove his mettle, to show Rodriguez and the others they are better off here.

To show.... or tell.... Or should we say "insert a horses head into their bed"?? I don't think the mans metal needs testing after Adkins either ;)

Ha ha to be fair Liverpool just throw money at players and see what happens, they pay stupid amounts at players, the last time I checked they were the 3rd highest payers in the premiership after City and Chelsea.

To date, he's done this very well. We've only lost 1 player we wanted to keep in over 3 years

One only needs to look at the transfer of their beloved Rafa & King Kenny.:lol::lol:

Hilarious. £35m for Carroll, the same again on Henderson & Downing. £20m on a crocked player that managed about 4 appearances - the man supposed to be the replacement for Xabi Alonso!

£18m on Robbie Keane, who was clearly already past his best.

Staggering.

I think someone posted a link or picture to a league table of wages recently, Barry. Though, I cannae remember where, or who (soz). But yeah, L'pool were pretty high up that list.

Liverpool sign so many players for high wages its bound to happen a few will be good (Torres,Suarez) but in the main they are **** at buying players and have been for years and its makes me laugh, they however still are a huge club that will turn most players heads if they come knocking, living in the City you only have to see the impact they have on tourism with fans coming from all the globe daily to see that ****ehole anfailed.

I'm sure they are sniffing around but will they have the £35m again? No chance so they can jog on and live with all their terrible buys (£10.5m of Borini anyone?).

They can do their own scouting and buy these gems from clubs out side the premier league them selves next time instead of blowing their cash on nonsense signings.

No disputing the size of the club.

I just like laughing at how inept they are.

I do think their pull is on the decline. I think there are a few teams now, that players may see as a more attractive option, where it may have been the reverse a few years previously. For example, Tottenham.

A lot of Liverpool's 'size' comes from their past, which is brilliant, but bares little significance for current players. They are going to struggle to be playing Champions League any time soon, in my opinion, which will put them on a rung below the likes of Utd, City, Chelsea, Spurs/Arsenal.

They may well struggle to hang on the Suarez this summer, if a 'big club' make a serious move for him.

Liverpool is they continue to fail to make the Champions Legaue yes, but as soon as they are on there they are only 2nd to United for size, no issue with that, them and United are the only two global clubs we have in England.

Arsenal, Chelsea, City and Spurs dont even add up to one of them Worldwide.

Can't see him going there. If you ignore the fact that Liverpool are one of the true 'mega' clubs on the planet, have history and tradition that puts other clubs to shame, an over-flowing trophy cabinet, massive resources, one of the most famous grounds in the world and some world class players - I'd say we are a bigger club than them. I have no reasons or stats to back that up, I'm just using the SWF mentality and getting all giddy after a few decent wins.
