Rut Posted 7 April, 2013 Share Posted 7 April, 2013 http://www.oddschecker.com/football/english/premier-league/relegation For all you doom 'n' gloom merchants I'm sure you will be lumping on. Easy money 'ey? Ladbrokes & Hills only have us at 50/1. Oh no. That late Wigan goal could be the final nail in our coffin.
Sheaf Saint Posted 7 April, 2013 Share Posted 7 April, 2013 I cheekily stuck a tenner on this yesterday, just to ease the pain in the unlikely event it does happen.
Jimmy_D Posted 7 April, 2013 Share Posted 7 April, 2013 We're not even available with the bookies that are offering a 'to escape relegation' market.

Jonnyboy Posted 7 April, 2013 Share Posted 7 April, 2013 What? I thought the odds on a 10th+ place would be at least 100-1 according to the "expert" posters.
Tamesaint Posted 7 April, 2013 Share Posted 7 April, 2013 What? I thought the odds on a 10th+ place would be at least 100-1 according to the "expert" posters. Haven't you noticed? They seem to have gone very quiet lately.
Rut Posted 15 April, 2013 Author Share Posted 15 April, 2013 http://www.oddschecker.com/football/english/premier-league/relegation Gone out to 125/1 now (and some bookies ain't pricing us). Don't worry boys 'n' girls. The 'other games' threads will still be going. After all - if all the teams below us manage to win all their games we are doomed... Has anyone actually watched Stoke lately? Still hoping it's Villa myself.
SNSUN Posted 15 April, 2013 Share Posted 15 April, 2013 Why are our odds and West Hams odds so different? We're level on points, similar goal difference and only a place apart in the table! Does that mean they have more faith in us than the Hammers to stay up?

Turkish Posted 15 April, 2013 Share Posted 15 April, 2013 Haven't you noticed? They seem to have gone very quiet lately. The hilarious thing about a lot of the mugs on here is that if you give an opinion, in this case, it was and still is my opinion that we wont finish 10th. The dinlows immediately claim you've said its impossible, that it cant be done and there is a hysterical reaction like there has been that someone dare say that red hot unstoppable Saints might not finish 10th, a positon we haven't been in all season but some feel it is our destiny and god given right to. we wont finish 10th, we wont go down. No, im not being quiet about it.
Dan Posted 15 April, 2013 Share Posted 15 April, 2013 So glad I lumped £200 on us to stay up when we were at evens. The lads I live with (I live in Sheffield and there all United) wouldn't believe me when I said we would stay up and told me to put my money where my mouth was, so out of spite I did. To be honestly I instantly regretted it, but fortune favors the brave in this case. After the Newcastle game I put a tenner on us to finish 10th or above at 33/1 so still not ruling that one out yet! Could be the pre season tour jolly paid for...

It seemed to suit your sarcastic, bully boy persona. Others like your mate CB Fry followed your example. According to him, anyone who thought we could finish tenth was an absolute moron Now there is a distinct possibility that we could finish tenth and the phrase has lost its value as an insult - hence your back sliding and attempt to re write history. Continue to re write the past like this and you could get a journalist's job on the Pompey News.

Another one getting it totally wrong, you're the one looking silly constantly misquoting what i actually said to make your silly little stats, predictions and form guides a little less pointless. edit - just seen you are now making things up on the other thread that i dimissed our prospects of finishing in the top 12. View From The Top Posted 15 April, 2013 Share Posted 15 April, 2013 I'll be absolutely delighted if we finish 10th or higher as I considered us nailed on for relegation & mid-table certainly beyond us and I'm chuffed to bits to be wrong!

SaintBobby Posted 16 April, 2013 Share Posted 16 April, 2013 I have £1,000 on Saints to "not be relegated", which I put down after the first 6 or 7 games. I'm feeling confident.

It's all %s, Turkish. What would you say our chances are of finishing in the top ten? Clearly, not zero. But not 100% either. I'd say about 25%. What odds would you say Saints are to finish top 10 or top 8 or top 6 next season? I'd say 40%, 15% and 5%. Sorry to sound so nerdy statto, but it ain't a "Yes/No". Someone who says "no chance" and is proven right is as mad as someone who says a fair coin won't come up heads and is proven right.
