TijuanaTim Posted 2 December, 2008 Share Posted 2 December, 2008 Thinking of being a 'fair - weather/JCL' myself to be fair. Maybe worth a trip home to support the cause. We need 32,000 in for that and paying top dollar, get gate receipts of half to one million and if the kids excel it would be fantastic if they pull a draw and we go up to OT with all it's financial benefits. Manks will sell their allocation I guess, if we don't sell all our tickets how many will we let them have (the more the merrier for bare money rationale!!) Always looking at the bright side, visualize it and it may happen.

VectisSaint Posted 2 December, 2008 Share Posted 2 December, 2008 Doubt it will be a full house (based on past experience), even if they re-open the corners as a one-off. Nothing mentioned yet to give anyone a hint that they might do this, Lowe probably only sees it as an increased cost. No way we can pull in 500k, let alone 1m by the way. Golden Balls Posted 2 December, 2008 Share Posted 2 December, 2008 I really think people have underestimated the demand for this game. I have a list of 9 people who want a ticket once I claim my seat. My mate who is also a STH has a list of 6 people who have asked him for a ticket. If its not a sell out, it'll be close. benjii Posted 3 December, 2008 Share Posted 3 December, 2008 It will definitely be a sell out. Even if we don't shift all our tickets to "genuine" Saints fans, there will be plenty of people in Southampton, Hampshire, Dorset, West Sussex etc... who would be keen to see Man U. I imagine a lot of the Eastern Europeans who have moved here since we were relegated would jump at the chance to see Man U play whilst they're in the country. The only way we would manage to preclude a sell-out will be if we charge something upwards of £40 for a typical ticket, or raise the kids' prices too high IMO. derry Posted 3 December, 2008 Share Posted 3 December, 2008 If all season ticket holders take their allocation that's say 19000 gone, add away supporters 4800 - 23800 gone, corporate, ataff etc say 1200 - 25000 gone, minimum 3000 that go to matches - 28000 gone, that leaves a maximum of 4200 tickets for members buying a Notts Forest ticket, for a start I have 2 in addition to 2 STs. It will be a sell out and will probably be filled up by members holding NF tickets. That could mean even being a member won't be enough.

derry Posted 3 December, 2008 Share Posted 3 December, 2008 I think you'll find there are so many people want tickets, that unless a member has a Notts Forest linked ticket, they won't get one. Man Utd: Foster, Rafael Da Silva, Neville, Evans, O'Shea (Evra 66), Nani, Gibson, Possebon (Scholes 66), Anderson, Giggs (Manucho 71), Tevez. Subs Not Used: Kuszczak, Park, Vidic, Welbeck. They wont want to be going out at the 3rd round stage. I also believe that Man Utd will field a strong team. Just take a look at their fixture list.... It's not as congested in early January as it is the rest of the season - they have no midweek game either side of the FA Cup 3rd round fixture. I doubt therefore that they would want their first string players to go without a game for 12 days....
1976_Child Posted 5 December, 2008 Share Posted 5 December, 2008 SMS will be full. I reckon there will be a lot of disappointed walk-ups on the day. And well done to Lowe (it's a rare event when I praise him but credit where credit is due) for putting the price of the ticket up to £30. The club needs all the cash we get at the moment and people will still be happy to shell out a few extra quid above the normal price in order to see us beat Manure. Saintsnodisbelieving Posted 29 December, 2008 Share Posted 29 December, 2008 Southampton v Manchester United betting SAINTS 12/1 DRAW 9/2 MAN UTD 3/10 Is 12/1 a fair odds ? It is long odds but not one of the longest, that can be found with Barrow, who are priced 20/1 to beat Middlesboro and Blyth Spartans are priced 14/1 to beat Blackburn, So now you can see how hard a task we have. 12/1 is the price you can get for Everton to make it to the final, so for us to win one game against Man Utd is parable to Everton to win five games to get to the final. Correct score prices are as follows, one nil to Saints is priced at 20/1 this would replicate 1976. three one to Saints which would replicate the grey shirt result is 100/1 and six goals to three in favour of Saints, would be a chuffing miracle or 250/1. And as for any time goal scorers, you go through nine of the Man Utd team before getting a price of 10/3 for a saints player. Maybe we will play for the replay at old Trafford and so nil nil 16/1. If only I was psychic, could make a fortune on this match. http://saintsnodisbelieving.blogspot.com/
