Yep. They don't need oil or gas, will make a fortune out of inflated prices, China are choked, Israel have enjoyed themselves and have an excuse to smash up Lebanon (then steal the bottom half), Iran has fallen out with it's mates, his mate Putin can sell oil again, Europe are a bit fucked, he's got an excuse to bail from NATO, etc.

There's no improvement for the Iranian people, and no removal of the Iranian uranium, but that was never the issue. Whether he really wanted regime change I'm unsure, but they were never going to achieve it, and I suspect even he knew that.

And now, three weeks into a war that's closed the Strait of Hormuz, sent oil to $112 a barrel, pushed gas up a dollar a gallon in 30 days, and triggered the biggest supply disruption in the history of the global oil market, this weapons-grade fucking moron posts that he's "winding down."

While putting 5,000 more Marines on a boat from San Diego.

That's like dousing your house in petrol, chucking a match through the window, and telling the neighbours you're thinking about updating the curtains.

Years. Not weeks. Years.

Gas was $2.93 a month ago. It's $3.91 today. And it is not coming back. Steel and concrete do not give a fuck about your Truth Social post, Donald. Refineries don't watch Fox News. The laws of physics don't bend because a 79-year-old narcissist needs a win before the midterms.

Every dollar above what you were paying last month. That's Trump's war. Every grocery bill. Every diesel fill. Every family at the kitchen table working out what to cut. That is directly, specifically, undeniably the fault of Donald J. Fucking Trump and the 77 million oxygen thieves who voted for him. Three times.

But don't be fooled into thinking it's as useless as it appears. The top military folk in USA (not Hegseth, the actual generals) know their shit and have well-crafted plans. This apparent confusion and shit show is just Trump being Trump, but they will know what their plans are and I expect they are pretty clear on what the actual current plan is.

Whilst the generals are undoubtedly bright people, they're only as good as their instructions. It seems as clear as day that Trump doesn't seem clear on his objectives, and you can't have a clear plan when you have vague objectives.

Since Hegseth took over at least 18 Generals and Admirals have been 'retired'  including the top 3 positions in the Defense Intelligence Directorate. It also includes the Admiral responsible for Central and South America, and the US forces' member of the NATO Council.

Including lower ranks, 'dozens' of officers at the Pentagon have been sidelined as they were thought to not be aligned with the Administration.

I was saying much the same to a friend, on another Trump subject, last week.

Start with the caveat of what he is as a person. But then talk about the broader US goals being targeted, historic ones from before his time.

Part of that is absolutely Trumps "weaving" where he drifts back and forth across subjects, often contradicting whatever went before. But knowing full well the news cycle and other politicians react every time.

Following my own logic, there are objectives such as aiding Israel to take out Iranian leadership; further degradation of Iranian nuclear capability (even though they were destroyed completely last time) moving against another long term sanctioned country; destabilise regime; impact on proxies; impact on Iranian allies, also subject to other US actions; get some control or renegotiations on their oil.

Not forgetting Trump knows he has until the mid-terms to really get things done. So, he's got a lot of things he can get drawn into. And those advising him, know that too.

However, US strategic planning rarely seems to go past the shock and awe stage. No uprising; no long term planning and even his own side and allies are looking at this as a disjointed mess.
