As for all this racist abuse of players on social media. Assuming it is actual people why don’t Sky, BBC etc just expose the people who have posted - might not be easy in all cases but sure some of these twats are quite easy to track down.

Agreed, but the bit in bold is the key. Wouldn't surprise me if it was some kind of 'disrupter bots' (or whatever the correct descriptor is for this kinda thing)...

Yeah she got that wrong, she seems the type who should advocate for intersectionality and so be a bit more educated about disability.

So should Badenoch who is demanding an apology. You first Kemi….https://www.autism.org.uk/what-we-do/news/the-national-autistic-society-has-responded-to-kem and https://www.forbes.com/sites/drnancydoyle/2024/10/15/kemi-badenoch-accidentally-describes-the-social-model-of-disability/

I suspect most are bots although there was an estate agent from Savils who was caught sending them and various un-tech savvy late teens and early 20s.

John Davidson is definitely racist though...

🤦🏻

I'd just like to say, I've never bought a Bombastic Caucacity album, nor even heard any of their music, despite their chart success.

I thought it WAS an album.

The amount of sanctimony on Sunday Supplement about Leeds fans booing the Ramadan break. I suspect a number maybe racists but some might just be annoyed at stoppage when only short-time to half time and can have a drink. If the PL was really concerned maybe move all games to evening time after sunset to respect the fast?

Looks like Bank Notes are becoming more inclusive. The BoE had some consultation and the recommendation is animals. They are a "safe" move that avoids long-standing debates and potential backlashes over the diversity (or lack thereof) of the historical figures selected for the notes. I think a pony would be particularly fitting.

Pony and monkey. Beaver on the £5? [Beaver = muff. "Muff diver" > "fiver"].

This apparent fantasist professor story does make me smile.

He’s been caught out very publicly and as Saints found out last season, cheating has serious consequences. Empathy with his colleagues who have been caught up in this mess and some of whom seemingly suspected he was not what was claimed. Cambridge University leadership have further questions to answer.

The positive is that Jack Grove, the journalist who investigated, brought the fraud to light, has been exonerated and it was very wrong that he was ever reported to the police https://www.timeshighereducation.com/opinion/i-was-reported-police-over-arday-case-i-was-just-doing-my-job

Nathan Confas is still vile though, blogging in 2024 that if Harvard was a true meritocracy, there would be no black Professors. Ghent are welcome to him. Now he IS racist.

Where's Saints £1.4M book deal.

Sadly other people, not him will face the effects of the lack of any rigour from the institutions.

On this agree, and yes, I don’t have any sympathy with him personally. Claiming others work and profiting from it is low grade behaviour and conduct.

of course, when it was first suggested in public something was off with this bloke, the usual suspects - James O'Brien and the like - all circled the wagons and called anyone who dared question him a racist.

Strangely, I do not believe this was covered that much on his show on LBC yesterday.

I think the media environment has become far too American and partisan - O’Brien is part of that issue as well - where genuine investigative journalism gets mixed up and misdiagnosed as the type of brown-nosing client journalism we see from the likes of the Mail and Guardian for political customers/donors.

With this case, Jack Grove’s excellent work was written off in some quarters as a political hit job because THES and the Times Group is Murdoch owned. Whereas actually they are showing their independence as Farage has found out as his network of criminals funding him are being exposed by the Times.

is there anything he can’t do?

He apparently made all sorts of claims that were plainly false, sounds like he had some sort of mental health issue.

Sounds like being his ghostwriter would have been a hoot, trying to keep track of the changing stories and new claims.

Perhaps received, when he returned from the dead?

His story would make a great Netflix drama.

Maybe someone like Damion Lewis or Cilian Murphy could play him?

Decent casting choices. But Julie Andrews does have the experience of Mary Poppins behind her, and I see this as a musical of the unbelievable.
