It's a shame as FA Youth Cup games played at St Mary's a good run would have given the kids some experience and fans a chance to attend. Being knocked out last year by Burton Albion and this by Sheffield Wednesday does not reflect well, clubs operating on much smaller budgets with vastly less resources available for academy development. The changes Crocker made, including bringing in the in-game/individual skill coaching setup are obviously having an impact and Carl Martin probably took a lot from being involved with the first team. He then came back after the summer and just absolutely started smashing it to the point where quickly got moved up the age groups.
