die Mannyschaft Posted October 6 Posted October 6 I must say the women's football is very entertaining and very reasonable cost. Went to Euro 2022 final and registered a year early, got e mail to order and ticket about £18 ! Also went you FA cup final Man U v Spurs as Saints women had good chance to get there and gambled and got tickets again £24. Last game Wembley was England women v Germany 2024 again under £25. Took my son and his was £12. Great atmosphere, lots families, lots goals and the turnstiles next to use had Pompey womens teams queueing up so us two with out Saints shirts on surrounded by 60 plus Pompey shirts. All aound 80k. I think Euro and WC, FA cup finals and group games will be much better attended. The Euro 2022 games were all sold out at St Mary's as again those who cant afford the mens team games will have good chance to see thier team. Going to Saints women's v Pompey but that's not selling that well. Parking bit steep at £10. Although the Saints v Man U game at Eastleigh sold out. Eastleigh better venue for me as in Eastleigh and Soton a nightmare to get to on train. 2
Tommy Mulgrew Posted October 8 Posted October 8 1:0 to Saints McAlonie scored after 19 minutes. Couldn’t get another. Pompey offered little.

Always nice to beat them, lots of changes to starting XI, play them again in a few days with a stronger side hopefully another win 2

It’s wasn’t that long ago when anyone who suggested this might be a good idea was hammered as being a misogynistic dinosaur talking bollocks who clearly had an issue with women anyway, well done beating Pompey tonight, always nice to beat them at anything. Seems like it was a comfortable win too 👏👏👏 1
die Mannyschaft Posted October 8 Posted October 8 Great game, Saints well in control first half. Very attacking football, through balls, dribbling inside, actually shooting quickly without 25 touches. This made the mens team look non league.
Doctoroncall Posted October 12 Posted October 12 How was that not a penalty with the shirt tug on Primus?
Stripey McStripe Shirt Posted October 12 Posted October 12 HT. 2-1 Pompey, but Saints by far the better side aside for m a bit of luck/fluke from Pompey. Saints should still get something out of the second half. 1

Stripey McStripe Shirt Posted October 12 Posted October 12 When was the last time a senior Saints team, men or women, played at Fratton and didn't score (at least) 4 goals. I almost feel sorry for them. Must be disheartening.
Saint_clark Posted October 12 Posted October 12 2-5 in injury time. The boos ring out 😂 easy easy easy. 1 1

Nice change of pace to fool the defender, before getting the shot away for the fifth. McAlonie and Ferguson looking good from Hibs and Peplow supported well. Little shout out for Mott, who came on late and looked to pick out attackers with every ball, pushing Pompey back. 1
rooney Posted October 12 Posted October 12 Some good goals and pleasing that Saints came back from2.0 down. However some of the passing and giving the ball away were dreadful.

Dr Who? Posted October 12 Author Posted October 12 We really do have a realistic chance of the top 3. Like the men’s championship there are not any real stand out teams but need to keep pace with Brum, (who beat last week), Charlton and Bristol City who will in my opinion be the 3 that will hopefully have Saints fighting it out with them.
Football Special Posted October 12 Posted October 12 Decided to take the kids for a day out to Fratton and a top afternoon was had, always felt we'd win even at 2-0 down, good support in our away corner , looks like the 657 forgot to set their alarm clocks , no show from them 3

Second half must have been great to watch.

You can definitely see the confidence growing in the side , hard to know how season will progress but there doesn't seem to be stand out favourites for promotion yet , will be good if they can challenge, extra spots definitely makes this season more interesting
Tommy Mulgrew Posted Sunday at 13:51 Posted Sunday at 13:51 Playing at Brighton without a recognised attacker in the squad, let alone the starting eleven. 0:0 at half-time. Defender at CF. If it’s good enough for the women, why not let the men try it? The chances of scoring could not be much worse than they were yesterday. Aribo and Stephens to vie for the starting spot, the other coming on off the bench. You read it here first. 🤩

Think their chances of scoring might have been much worse than they were yesterday tbh.
