badgerx16 Posted May 1 Posted May 1 Ukrainian journalist Viktoriia Roshchyna was abducted and imprisoned by the Russians. In October 2024 the Russians announced that she had died. Earlier this year her body, showing clear signs of torture, was repatriated, it has now been reported that her brain and eyes were missing.

badgerx16 Posted May 6 Posted May 6 It is 1600Km from the northern border of Ukraine to Moscow. The Russian air defences don't seem to be very effective if Ukraine can launch mass drone strikes on the Russian capital.
Weston Super Saint Posted May 15 Posted May 15 Apparently Putin isn't bothering with the peace talks in Istanbul today. Not sure that's a huge surprise - doesn't he have an international arrest warrant so has to stay put in Russia anyway?
badgerx16 Posted May 27 Posted May 27 "Moscow requested a meeting of the U.N. Security Council over Europe's alleged "threats to international peace and security," Russia's U.N. envoy, Dmitry Polyansky, said on May 27, only a day after Russia launched its largest drone attack against Ukraine. Russia launched a three-day wave of aerial attacks from May 24 to May 26, firing more than 600 drones and dozens of missiles across Ukraine. On May 26, Russian forces carried out the most extensive drone attack of the full-scale war, reportedly involving 355 Shahed-type attack drones and decoys. Moscow, which holds a permanent seat in the U.N. Security Council, requested the session because of what it called attempts by European countries to prevent a peaceful settlement of the war in Ukraine, according to Polyansky." https://kyivindependent.com/after-3-days-of-consecutive-attacks-at-ukraine-russia-calls-for-un-security-council-meeting/

Lighthouse Posted June 1 Posted June 1 There’re a lot of videos of burning TU95s on Twitter. Such a shame. 1
31cc Posted June 1 Posted June 1 I imagine a few Russian military and intelligence senior officers will be moving into ground floor apartments and making their own tea from now on. 4
Jimmy_D Posted June 1 Posted June 1 That is a ridiculously massive hit to an extremely limited and irreplaceable Russian military capability. 1

When Russia are already throwing everything they've got a killing as many civilians as possible, that's not really much of a threat. Their so called 'reply' will just be the horrible sh*t they do anyway.
Jimmy_D Posted June 2 Posted June 2 Knock on effects are already starting to bite. Russia has been relying more and more on their road network for logistics as their rail network is suffering from severe lack of maintenance. Now every single traffic route is snarled up with cargo traffic being inspected. 1

Would be funny when Putin talks about NATO aggression if we took the upper hand and wiped out their airforce and navy and then said do you want to have a go ya bald cunt? 1
Jimmy_D Posted Monday at 23:40 Posted Monday at 23:40 Some speculation that the drone strikes on the airfields, that likely took out two A50s, has left them with no flying A50s. The F16 taking down the SU35 certainly suggests they don’t have enough AEWACS capability for complete coverage any more. It’s an extremely significant shift in the balance of power if Ukraine has AEWACS and Russia doesn’t any more.
